i want someone to commit to doing something with social security... i'm paying it, but it has been admitted that i'll never get it
FunkyRob 10:41 PM 1 November 2007
I went to a San Jose Sharks game a few weeks ago.

The national anthem played in the beginning.

I stood up.

I didn't put my hand on my heart.

I didn't get the memo that there was such an unwritten law.

When I was in the USMC, we had to stand at attention and salute the flag. That we knew...or we'd be in deep shit.

Personally, I think there's much more important things to consider while picking a president. None of the people I pick ever win anyway.
DJ Sniffles 11:23 PM 1 November 2007
in the military, if ur in uniform u salute...if ur not in uniform u put the hand over heart.

I remember when the would play revele or whatever its called....I forgot. and the anthem would come on after....anyways people would bust and run to get inside so they didn't have to stand there at attention for 2 minutes

Privatizing social security was a W Bush admin. idea. Like reforming immigration policy & letting the Dubai firm that bought the British dock management company keep the U.S. contracts of the company they bought. It seems the only things I agreed with W on were some of his policies that caused the biggest public outrage. I was never for invading Iraq, but that was actually popular for a while...hell, he got re-elected for christsake.

The dem's are gonna have to do something with soc. security, but it'll probably just be tax increases & benefit cuts...
DJ-A 3:14 AM 2 November 2007
i hate politics. no one can ever agree, and when ever they do something it seems like it fucks up something else
dj grand dad 1:35 PM 2 November 2007
I think Obama would make a great President but lets face it alot of people in our country does not want to see a black man hold that office.

Like i said i would love for Obama to be president but i think a vote for him is a wasted vote it is just a smoke screen for the republican party to win the office. and we all know we do not want no more of there bull shit.

The USA should let there be more than two party's and let every one be in the running and the debates all the way till the end and put all canidates on the valets till the end of the election.

But that would be to much like being fair I wonder who's going to steal the election this year Hmmmm Intrusting
tig ol' bitties 1:41 PM 2 November 2007
its either going to be a woman or a black man. I prefer the woman based on experience and who she has backing her.

When have you ever known thief's to agree it's all about getting there hands on the surplus money and get there friends jobs they know they are not qualified for and push there politics on people and steal all the money they can in 4 or 8 years.

All of them are crook's thief's and liar's we can't trust non of them it's all just smoke and mirror's to get there bull shit across
tig ol' bitties 1:43 PM 2 November 2007

Now you are talking Tig that would show the people some true democracy i think Hilary and Obama should split the ticket and i beleave if they do that that party could stay in office for 16 years
dj grand dad 1:53 PM 2 November 2007
A black man and a woman would give the USA a newly face lift badly needed in the white house for the office of president.

+1 Its all smoke and mirror's. She is running off of the fame of her husband and the fact she stood by him after Monica gate.

Shit every woman that got his dick sucked from some little skank

Should run for office then.

But 8 more years of bill would be better than this band of fools and idiots in office now crooked bastards
dj grand dad 2:13 PM 2 November 2007
I ment to say every woman that husband got there #$$% sucked should run for office then.
DJ-A 2:15 PM 2 November 2007
So with opinions aside regarding who should and who shouldnt run...

What values do you have that you want a president to share?

We could all talk about value's but to me do a good and fair job for the poeple and make the USA a fair and true democracy.

Ashcroft has values but we do not want any one like him in
office

To me when you are president you can not push your morals and values on people because people are not all the same.

To me do a fair and honest job for every one
DJ-A 2:35 PM 2 November 2007

DJ-A 3:07 PM 2 November 2007
that is why i think every president is always disliked. more people will voice the complaints than their support.

i know as i drive i'm more likely to yell "Fuck You!" than i am to say "wow you're sure a good driver" (and mean it)

if you do things in the interest of the people like my man Bill, you will be liked even by those red states.

I hate stistics... goes along with what i said above... but statistics in these cases are bull shit.

Is Vice President Al Gore qualified to be president?

Yes 63%
No 27

Well he invented the internet... so i think he was a great president...

Do you approve of the military attacks on Iraq?

Approve 78%
Disapprove 18

hmmmm no comment...

Screw you guys.

Stephen T. Colbert for PRESIDENT!

:P

PS - That picture/column is whack.
DJ-A 4:14 PM 2 November 2007
I think that Hilary (if she won) would feel that she has something to prove. i think she may even bomb Iran because of their "threat" maybe even North Korea. not that i think it is right or wrong... but i dont think she'd make educated decisions with her ego. She would have the mind set of i'll show you what a woman can do...
DJ-A 4:15 PM 2 November 2007
all of us that are married know how women can be when it comes to their decision making process... they do what they want.

SHe will be a good pres. Bill is with her at almost every important campaign spot she goes to so you know any decision she makes will be heard by him before its made.
She wouldnt even be considered as a serious contender if it hadnt been for him. Im not worried. Bills my man.

Something i want is someone who isnt afraid to piss people off...

i want lower oil prices, and Alaska has a ton of it. Fuck the tree huggers... i'm all for keeping the oceans clean, so i think there should be regulations that are strict enough to prevent oil spills. but Alaska does us no good if all we get from them is Salmon.

I want oil to be rendered worthless by newer technological developments.

Ultimately, that would be far cheaper than destroying the Alaskan environment to suck out whatever oil's sitting under it.

technology for cars to run on other sources has been around for ten years already....even cars that could run on water which was found on accident. but....the auto industry wouldn't do it because they receive finances from oil companies.....

the oil industry has a very powerful influence over this country in aspects other than oil.

the problem isn't oil companies and the government though....its us, our lifestyle and the way we live.

the first step to fixing this country and this planet is ourselves. everyone wants something done but they want someone to do it for them.

this planet needs to be a priority. im not a tree hugging liberal by far but global warming is real. and it is happening at an accelerated pace. I do my day to day part to reduce...but one person can't change the world

They both get money from the government. Every public dollar spent on highways instead of transportation alternatives is a stealth subsidy of the auto & oil industries.
DJ-A 3:03 PM 5 November 2007
how?

If you spend money on a parking lot and a train station, people won't drive into the city. If you just keep putting more lanes on the highways, they will.

If more public money went into public transportation, bike paths, sidewalks & crossing signals, etc., fewer people would feel have to drive everywhere.
