When I was in Hawaii the wireless internet in the room ran faster than my home internet which is hooked directly to the computer. Why is the wireless faster than that???? I was downloading shit alot faster than at home.

Probably due to # of people using the overall internet line at the hotel compared to the number of people using your main line. If you're hooked to cable, you're sharing bandwidth with everyone in your neighborhood (including the 15 year olds downloading thousands of porn clips). Same thing happens to me @ hotels, there aren't many people online, and if they are, they're only looking at news sites, not downloading multi-hundred megabyte mixes.

same thing when i go to vegas. the hotel internet screams! who goes to vegas and sits in their room and gets on the internet, i mean besides me.

Damn, I was hoping it was something else. I should move to a hotel.

maybe they was running the 108mbs compared to you maybe running 54mbs wireless router.

They probably have a much stronger wireless network then a 108mb wireless router,with several rely's, and they are probably fed with a 100Mbit connection, maybe 15-20 at min. I can't wait for WiMax
