Hahaha!!!I played at a private party over the summer, and a 5 year old girl came over and asked me for Smack That!!! I told her no, than her mom came over and asked me to play it. She was the one that hired me, so I had to play it. Both the mom and the daughter were freaking each other!!! I felt really weird!!!

i used to dj at a pretty big all-ages club (for about 3 years) you don't even want to know what i've seen. it was under 21 (like 12 and up) and there would be about 1500 people a night, one night a week. young young girls wearing practically nothing and getting grinded by 19 and 20 year olds. it used to be video taped and broadcasted on a public access station until the camera guy got fired...guess what for?

What?! Serious? That's ill. They allow adults drinking with underage (>18) in the same club? That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

if i called my mom by her first name, i'd really never know how she reacted to it since i'd be dead before i even finished saying her name.

Same here. After my mom knocked me out, my dad would probably revive me, and then knock me out again.

I understand your concern as a parent knowing what the song means and being a dj, but I dont think kids understand the other meaning of the song. Its no more than a dance song to them in my opinion. Just another 2step and Walk it out to them

Excellent point Sniffles however, this song is not a good example. I can bet my last dollar that 99.99999% of kids dont even know the meaning of the song....especially at the age of 5 and under. They just see the video and follow the dance to it. I would br more concerned if a 5 year old were to recite the lines of Duffle Bag Boy

Most wont know what that songs talking about at 5 and the ones that do understand are already out there no reason to try to shelter them from what they already know, as long as its the edited version i dont see the problem, 99% of music is adult in some nature anyway unless you ecprected the DJ to just play the nick toons and hanah montana soundtracks all night

I have to agree with the opinion that kids that young do not really understand the lyrics in their entirety and just seeing it for what it is....."group activity". I have a two year old daughter and it would kill me if this were played at her party. The truth of the matter is that it's just one of those "pop" songs that will inevitably want to be heard by kids. My other half works in schools and I remember the day she told me about 1st graders doing this dance. I do a couple of teen nights from time to time so as you can guess the song was in rotation while it was popular, but to think that kids that young knew it blew my away.

Not just music, cartoons too. Man I was watching old cartoon reruns one night and it took me back to childhood, but then I realized that they were talking about a lot of adult things (under wraps of course) which I thought was hilarious. It got me thinking, how did I not pick up on that before?
