Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Post Fader FX for SL3

MalBroke 5:18 AM - 4 December, 2011
It would be nice to be able to use the Aux out on the SL3 for FX. This way you can put them through your send on your ordinary mixer.

Would be nice, and for SL4 too...
Having this option on the 68 is so nice :D

Can the FX be engaged when it is in THRU mode?

If this were the case then the AUX channel could be used as an FX bus in conjunction with a mixer that has line channel FX sends (e.g. TTM56 or 56s).

This would be the only way to achieve Post Fader FX when using a Serato box. Otherwise you need a Serato Digital mixer (57sl, 61, 62) to achieve post fader FX without this method!

Just re-read the original post!

Duh!

Apologies!

Obviously serato has forgotten about they're loyal ssl users with the introduction of serato live, controllerism and the death of technics production even though there are so many technics out there since they were produced from the 70s to 2011ish. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever see this great idea come to fruition

i think the idea is to make one software eventually and then just update the one software ....

so no one group is forgotten and whatever device you want to plug in you use it so probably

this post fader efx will never become tru

+1 as well. I think there should be some kind of shortcut keys to enable/disable the fx on the fly instead of using the mouse if your using sl 1-4.

The long forgotten SA-8. I just put one up for sale on eBay. Odd to hear it even mentioned anywhere.

I'm on SL3 and SDJ 1.6. This has not been added yet..There is no way i could route the post effects through the AUX out..

COME ON SERATO PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH POST FADER EFFECTS THROUGH AUX OUT..!!
ILLZ 3:57 AM - 5 April, 2014
what on earth was I thinking, spending $400 on a ddj sp1 to use with an sl3 with the idea i'd have post fader fx. DO i really have to buy a new $2K mixer? Wow man.

We'll try this,

Turn deck 3 to "THRU"mode and under the effects highlite "3" and uncheck "1-2". Now run the AUX out into the RETURN on your mixer and now AUX in to the SEND on your mixer.

Now try an echo or delay and you'll see you have post fader effects. Not exactly what you want but it is a working work around.
DJ Irv 4:49 PM - 31 August, 2014
Can this be done on SL4 without send/return effects? For example is there a way to route the just the tail of an effect to the SL4's Aux out?
lindsaymar 10:33 PM - 26 November, 2014
Oh wow.
Soundinsurgent. Nice work. Thanks for the info.
Rather than bothering with the Send/Return on my DJM800, I went straight from Aux out to a spare channel on my mixer (That way my mixer fx are still all available to me.)Seems to work fine so far.
AnDJ1200 7:12 PM - 19 February, 2015
Hi,

Has there been any advance on this topic? When I looked in the documentation of SSL or SDJ yesterday I couldn´t find anything about mapping a midi crossfader to the software. That would basically allow volume control to be present in the outputstream of SSL or SDJ already. In this scenario a SL1 or SL2 was sufficient for post fader FX.

I´am about to modify my old Focus Fader V2, so that it can be toggled between "analogue" mode and usb midi device mode (need to change the micro for this). I wonder if this can bring me anywhere close to post fader FX...

That totally didn't work. I was just sending the complete master output into the SL3's Aux-in that I use to record mixes and putting an effect on that. #fail.
