Microphone Question???

Jordabella 9:19 AM - 5 October, 2007
Hello to all...

A quick question. Is there any way to use the mic to record without it coming out of the Main (L & R)?

For example...I thought that it would be cool if somebody wants you to announce a birthday, bachelor party or whatever...it would be cool if you could give them the mic, record them doing it right into serato on the spot and dropping it in later.

Anyone doing something like this?

I appreciate any help or suggestions you can give..

Sure. Just set the recording source to Aux/FlexFX/Mic.

I'm afraid it's not possible, if you record the mic then you can also hear it. That's a physical design issue on the mixer. It's a shame because this was possible to do with the SL 1 so it's almost like a step backwards.

Sorry, I didn't read properly.

This is not a physical limitation. You could simply not sum the aux/mic/flex DAC to the mains as this is done in the DSPs.

Thanks guys for the response...

nik39...How would I go about no summing the aux/mic/flex DAC to the mains.

No, I meant this could be done with a firmware change.

this would be neat addition I wouldnt mind being able to sample someones voice and maybe scratch it in or do a mini acapella loop over a song
