How do I clean the crossfader on my 57sl? this is why

I'm starting to feel it get a little harder. I also have a friend with a 56 that's really hard to use. I know it's dirty.

Is there a how clean site or somewhere I can get all the info?????

My 57sl is still under a year old. Should I send it in???

Umm..you could try just looking in the manual. It tells you exactly how to clean it and what product to use.

yeah, its worth having a go at. it does tend to bounce though and never stay still, which can get quite annoying at times.

that skratchworx site is great for this issue.

I'm tracking down that Cailube MCL stuff to hopefully resolve what is just a crossfader that needs some cleaning.

I've had the mixer 1 year and now the xfader is getting really hard to push and it has a very uneven feel in its action. For some reason I'm paranoid that this is something more that gunk build up or need of lube. Just paranoia? I guess I'll find out after I clean/lubricate the thing.

Has anyone had any other problem that turned out to be more than just needing to clean it?

thanks

oh also. Manual page 41 recommends CAIG DeoxIT F100...

but Guitar Center seems to stock CAIG DeoxIT F5.

is there any significant difference?

that trick with the torsion spring was amazing. thanks cheeba. i had an earlier post asking about "buttery smooth faders" and that's what i wanted. i tried to lube it but it didn't really make a difference. my crossfader FLIES now.

is it safe to spray the 57s crossfader with "fader sprays"?
Since its semi digital,

Hold on does the crossfader connects with the software?

I dont think so huh.

The "mix recorder" records from the main out
does it?
marknonsense1 5:28 AM - 21 November, 2007
