Hi,
Has the ability to turn off displaying avatars been removed? I had it enabled but recently avatars are now appearing and I can't find the option to switch them off any more.
It makes the forum more "stealthy" when viewing at work.
Thanks..
Boabmatic.

Hi Boabmatic,
Yes - we've disabled the ability to turn off avatars. There is another thread talking about this here: serato.com
Basically, it boiled down to a small percentage of users actually having them turned off, and the work involved with maintaining two different views (avatar and non-avatar) for both Serato.com and Whitelabel.net. Unfortunately for the guys like you who had avatars turned off, we made the decision to remove the preference, along with all the cruft that had built up because of it.

Hey boab,
I am also a fan of the "no-avatar"-site.
However, there is a trick how to disable the av pics when you use firefox and the adblocker. I can go into details if you use firefox.

I normally use chrome on PC or safari on Mac..
think I'll just live with it and keep an eye for the boss man over the shoulder :)

Ah... Chrome.. You can use this one:
adblockplus.org
These are the rules which block the avatars (they maybe not complete):

I totally agree with this. The computer I use at work is located in a high traffic area where now there are a few people passing by and stopping and looking as if I'm doing something reckless. I rather the discrete look of Serato before this change. I'm on here less frequently because of this change. Why was it so important for Serato to change that part of forums? If it's not broke why fix it. I feel that websites should resemble the products it creator makes. Similar to playlist views on Serato software and on the next upgrade to 2.4 only lets you view artwork image only.. that would be a nightmare on elm street
