So I've been using the 57SL at the club and recording mixes and love that feature. But was wondering if I can record without having what is being said on the mic recorded?? Please let me know how if there is a way. Thanks!

If you select MIX SSL records everything heard out the main mix output. So, to answer your question, no, sorry.

Yes you can. You have to use a mixing board of some kind. Just plug the outputs of the mixing board to the house sound system; plug the mixer out to 2 channels on the mixer (or one stereo channel); plug the mic into another input on the mixer; use the booth out of your mixer to record the mix.
Lots of different possibilities with a mixing board. You can pick up a Behringer 12 channel mixer for about $150-200 and it will do the job very well.

Pipe the best sound quality into the worst works well? I know what you mean but Behringer should be last resort if quality is what you are after.

Yeah I knew about the using another mixer I was looking for a way within SSL using a 57SL to record just the mix. I guess I'll just have to use another mixer when I want to eliminate the mic. Thanks for the help.

If you use SSL to record the mix, is the volume of the recording affected by the master volume control, or just the channel gains?
