Thinking of joining the 57 club......

I currently own two TTM56's, but Im thinking of selling one of them to raise money for a 57. Check this link out, authorized Rane seller..

cgi.ebay.com

this look like a good deal? bad deal? Am I overpaying?

thoughts!

most folks have paid in the $1150-$1250 range for the 57, after shipping and/or any taxes.
at agiprodj, eatmybeats, guitar center, pssl, etc.

of course that does not include the road case and headphones that eBay auction is throwing in.
but those are very cheap headphones... about $35.
The case runs for about $160... so $195 in extras in that auction. deduct that from the $1449 auction price and you're paying about $1254, which is a little on the high side for folks looking for a deal.

I'd go with one of the above listed shops, and buy the extras (if you really need them) seperate.

good luck!

i just noticed that is a "make an offer" auction

offer $1300 or $1350, the buyer may take it... in which case that would be a good deal with the case.

edit: the *seller may take it

Way over paying agiprodj.com has them for 1250 shipped last i heard. When i checked for myself they had them at 1185 shipped. My friend has a 56 and he is having trouble converting to the 57 lol. He uses his 57 just like his 56 doesnt use effects or the controllers or anything. Its just a much easier setup. Me on the other hand i use all the controllers and i dont touch my laptop anymore unless i need to search a song. Point of this rant is try out the mixer if you can and see if you would be comfortable using the mixer the way its designed because if your going to use it like you would a 56 i think its a waste of money in my opinion.

I was the one who wanted one, but because i got it at a great price he bought one too. And now that i have forced him to learn the effects etc he loves the mixer :)

Oh and before i get flamed there are tons of features that make the 57 a better mixer then the 56 other then the effects and serato controls :)

^ i totally feel you there, i didnt think the 57 was for me for the longest time, but i recently had the chance to use one in action, and i loved it.... I also wanted to purchase another serato for my home setup so i didnt have to constantly take my road one inside, and this would free up my existing one to do so.

good looks on the website links... ill do more shopping!
