How about having a jingle launcher...
Let's say we have 5 buttons to which you can map short samples, which blend over the mix, when pressed.
That would be useful for a radio show or just to include some ad in your mix like: "DJ Forgethisname in the mix" or "This party is powered by "whothef***knows"
Sure you can launch samples by using a SSL deck, but I think it would come quite handy to have a handful of samples in reach by just pressing a button.
Surely their should be some options, on how strong the sample will blend over the mix...

I'm with you on this one but I'd rather have at least eight buttons to trigger short samples, or maybe the possibility of having different banks (just like a Roland 303 sampler, eight pads and four banks).

The main issue with this is, what output do these samples play through?

I would suggest, you put 4 sample on both sides of the decks (possibly with a couple of banks as well) and assign hot keys to them. These sample buttons when fired would play over whatever is playing outa of your control deck on that side.
I dont know if it would be easier to have a set of these buttons in the middle of the gui and just have them fire out in stereo on both decks.
The SSL team is great though and they will figure it out.
Great suggestion DJ Hondai!!!!
But this feature would be wonderful for me and my radio show!

The question was what output/inputs would you use? Here's the possible solution. KEEP IN MIND THIS PRODUCT HAS NOT BEEN INVENTED YET!!!!. Small MP3 device which with a good amount of storage and a flash play button (so when you hit play it plays instantly). plug it into your MIC input. Use your Mic volume to raise or lower your samples that are saved in your MP3 device. Also it must have a mic input on the MP3 device and be able to balance the MIC sound that in going through.
Anyone interested in making this product?

U can use a regular dj-sampler to that, but they use wav instead of mp3...

Sure, but that is something like a third deck.
What I intended is a feature to dub samples over both running decks, then there is no problem with the outputs.
As a workaround u can use a regular sampler-program like a dj-sampler and run it besides SSL and fire the samples via line out of your soundcard to the mic-in or a third channel of your mixer, but that could cause performance issues and you have to jump between two programs.
It would be far easier if this feature is completely included in SSL, like I suggested ;-)

as a workaround, you could create a crate with you jingles, load one in a crate, launch it using internal for example if you dont want to use the ttable/cd deck to do that, and then undo this action with ctrl - z to come back to the original situation before launching the jingle.
but i agree, your suggestion could be very useful for radio shows!
