In other versions u could press one of the keyboard letters. And the select bar would go to that artist or song. Have i missed something?

make sure you've got "cue keys use shift" ticked in setup, then you can use CAPS LOCK to toggle between using the keyboard for shortcuts and using the keyboard to jump through your track lists.
