So I have been using serato for years. i love 99% of it.

Tonight. Packed club. everything is good.
Then, the sound stops. Serato does not change on the screen.
It only stops on the output, and I have to restart the computer, or sometimes just the software and then it will work again. Luckily I had a pacemaker to play something.
Then times when I reopen, It may not recognize serato is plugged in. It displays the screen with only one turntable.
Im using mac. SL1

Im dreamin' I know, but...
Is there a way to have an audio output that is connected in a more secure way than USB?

Im uneducated in this field. But coming from a vinyl background. I remember times when my needle would break mid set and I would be pissed off. But this is a different ball game. I feel like I can have a seamless process with serato. It's just 1% away.

Is anyone else ever had or are having problems with this?

Can you make an unlocked or open key purchase for serato? At least for emergency's sake?
You should still be able to use the output of your computer and play at least 2 simultaneous songs without having a serato box plugged in. So you can play something without letting the music stop.

Please make an open version and put our minds at ease. Its so frustrating when things go wrong but at least this way you could recover with some dignity. Play the night out with some confidence. Also without relying so much on a Tonium Pacemaker that is easy to press a wrong button when using, or the battery dying without warning. End rant.

This could use an audio mixer similar to the video one couldn't it?

I have come home and tonight I ran some tests.

It crashed pretty much straight away. Without me doing anything at all. Just opening it and playing a song on internal mode. I reopened it and it works for a moment then it crashes. Then it goes for a period of 2 hours without crashing once.

My USB connection on my Macbook pro has always been a little wobbly. I'm not sure if this could be the reason. I have an apple store nearby, so I think i'll take it in to see if they can do some sort of test.

so now as I test further.

It just won't crash.

No matter what I do its not budging out of being consistently perfect in my home studio.

WTF serato??
