At first I was a bit shocked, I thought my screen went mad and reloaded the forum a couple of times, till I realized: You changed the graphics on the board. I dont like them, looks a bit "unmotivated", like someone was experimenting and trying out a couple of tools in photoshop ;-) I liked the clean structure before.
nik39 4:31 AM - 10 June, 2005
Please take into account that I am the type of guy who is happy controlling his machine with a commandline instead of some fancy bling bling GUI. :)
djtrippin 4:32 AM - 10 June, 2005
mmmmm new splotches.
Thundercat 4:38 AM - 10 June, 2005
I did the same as nik. I refreshed the page twice and even physically checked for dust on my screen.
Detroitbootybass 4:44 AM - 10 June, 2005
It's fine... it works for me.

:-)
Revolutionary 4:45 AM - 10 June, 2005
I had just gotten up, and I must say I was a bit shocked when I saw it at first...Looks nice though.
djspicedham 4:47 AM - 10 June, 2005
Yeah I thought someone hacked the page and put random circles everywhere.
mexicannnnnn 5:24 AM - 10 June, 2005
haha.. yeah before I noticed that change I was wondering what the circles were.

Haha, you'd get along well with AJ :)

Splotches on the forum aside, what does everyone think of the homepage? -> scratchlive.net <-

Has anyone clicked on "Learn more about Scratch LIVE"?

Do you like the new About Scratch LIVE page? -> scratchlive.net <-
Revolutionary 6:05 AM - 10 June, 2005
That is very nice, man...

Was also my first thought, but the new site looks ok.

But please not start using Flash....
nobspangle 7:09 AM - 10 June, 2005
Apart from the splotches the new page looks good, it will take me a while to learn that clicking on the scratchlive logo no longer refreshes the forum but apart from that all good.

Now that the news section is shown on the front screen, will the mac users get the RSS feed they're after?

You can also view RSS feeds in mozilla firefox and thunderbird.
God is a DJ 9:53 AM - 10 June, 2005
Looks good apart from the splodges!
Couin 1:00 PM - 10 June, 2005
Nice pages. Easy to use and more descriptive than before.
However, like bartaug said, don't start to use Flash.
Alexander 1:58 PM - 10 June, 2005
I like the new design. Great work!
yuri 2:39 PM - 10 June, 2005
Splotches arent useful. I agree with Nik they seem just thrown on there and not really "designed".

Also I really think you guys need to make the header and body widths the same on all the pages.. I dont think having the header graphic extended over the rest of the page looks as professional as it could.

Asside from those 2 criticisms it looks very good.. make a couple adjustments and youll be perfect.
SpinThis! 2:43 PM - 10 June, 2005
it depends on where you use flash that matters.

the splotches on the forum look out of place.

Thats what I was trying to say, thanks guys. Sorry my english is not the best.

Ya'll owe me a NEW PC .... I was so mad that my PC was crapping up and threw it out of the window .. 2 floors down .. onto the driveway grrrrrh

Only to realize the site has changed ..
Nice changes I might add, will just take some getting used to.
I will also reiterate ... don't start using flash.
nik39 2:57 PM - 10 June, 2005
Just wanted to add that I really really like your SSL logo, the strobo dots from the technics platter look fly, but that doesnt apply to the dots here now ;-)
nik39 2:59 PM - 10 June, 2005
And...I find these splotches quite irritating casue the lie behind letters/text.

Enough for now :-) One day I might get used to it, hell I might even love it like the SSL GUI ;-)

Absolutely...
castor 4:52 PM - 10 June, 2005
why don't people like flash?

(i think the splodges are really out of place but like the new home page...except for the yellow, where did that come from?!)

LOL! I thought I was a sharp guy, but I didn't even realize the significance of the logo till now! Brilliant!! :-)

Splotches... smotches... I could care less! Perhaps using a gray-scale background image of the logo would tie things together a bit more? Oh, and flash is not a bad thing, but I personally don't think it's needed here (a bit over the top it would be IMHO)...

Love the new frontpage... aside from the dedicated piece at rane.com, SSL didn't have it's own "site".

Would be sweet if you guys added this cookie thing which would take you directly to the forum though.

Makes your website look like a cartoon. If I want to see cartoon I pop an old Tom&Jerry in the VCR :-)

Thanks, man...
mrkovak 5:40 AM - 11 June, 2005
at first I thought all the jizz stains just decided to show up at once, but then I remembered that I always make sure that the 'puter is never at that level when I'm whacking....
....yeah, I could do without but whatever....
mrkovak 4:07 PM - 11 June, 2005
sorry 'bout that, had a little too much to drink while I posted!!!
DJ Dynamight 4:24 PM - 11 June, 2005
lol! funny stuff...
Zion-Prayz 1:02 AM - 12 June, 2005
I was about to fuss my daughter out for getting fingerprints all over my new monitor...fortunately I figured out it was you guys fault. What the heck are those splotches? Not feeling the yellow.
Revolutionary 6:17 AM - 12 June, 2005
LOL...
CS-80a 7:50 PM - 12 June, 2005
the splotches aren't good, as others have said, they looks amatuerish and out of place on the site.

yuri - What pages have different widths? They should all be the same.
gazmonster 1:40 PM - 16 June, 2005
the splotches were a little confusing....

i thought i`d miss fired after a heavy session on bigjuggs.com .
yuri 2:43 PM - 16 June, 2005
dave- all of em.. for example this is what i meant

current: myhitechlife.com

same width: myhitechlife.com

anyway just my opinion..
nik39 5:19 PM - 16 June, 2005
... The black splotches in the back of the red letters, just not easy to read. This is not very eyes-friendly or eyes-candy.
dave 10:27 PM - 16 June, 2005
Cool, thanks yuri, I have to agree with you.

nik39, do you mean the splotches behind the "Forum" link?
nik39 11:01 PM - 16 June, 2005
Exactly, dave. And also those on the right upper corner below Index, are a bit irritating.
dave 5:55 AM - 22 June, 2005
We've added a new DJs page now too.

Check it out here -> scratchlive.net

(Oh no! More splotches!!!)

Nice job on the Djs page- one thing though is that you might want to make it so that the text on the djs bio pages didnt run in a long narrow colum on the side like it does now. Looks kinda wierd. Check this for example ----> scratchlive.net

Cheers.
dave 6:17 AM - 22 June, 2005
Ah, dumb Internet Explorer.

Thanks spicedham.
djspicedham 6:32 AM - 22 June, 2005
No problem:)
nik39 10:12 AM - 23 June, 2005
BTW, I hate to say it, but from a (normal users) design point of view www.finalscratch.com looks great, it looks pro and very appealing, I would almost say sexy in a way ;-) Compare the FS website to the sexy lady in the club who you want to hit once and who might be gone after the first night, whereas the SSL website with the current design and color is the lady at home, your babys momma who you live with, who you know you can rely on.
gazmonster 10:45 AM - 23 June, 2005
its a good point....why is serato the best emulator on the market yet no fucker has heard of it! whenever i explain my set up to some one i have to start with "well..you know final scratch..its the same but better"

DUDE: Yeah dude ... it rocks man .. you kick ass dude ..
ME: Wait boy .. this is NOT final scratch
DUDE: Dude ..its not ?
ME: THIS IS SSL, like final scratch but a million times better !!
DUDE: WOW !! dude .. SSL rocks man .. you kick ass dude
ME : That's how we do it
DUDE: Dude can I try .... wait let me take a puff dude
ME: HELL NO !!! Get your own bitch.

"This is SSL, it's like Final Scratch but it works"
roflmao. i like the new site a lot. i thought the old one was way too basic. i even like the splotches personally. gives a random/urban feel.
ps, it seems like there is so much more hype about fs? seems like a lot of clubs are instaliing it which is a big shame. why isn't ssl seem to be catching on? i spread the word as much as i can. sorry a bit OT...post a link if this is on a diff thread.
back on topic...add some more content and the new page will be great! from a potential buyer standpoint, i would like to know more names and clubs using ssl, even if they are more obscure. i think that will help sell the product. bandwagon approach works on my feeble mind. =)
Sam 1:10 AM - 26 July, 2005
Expect some more profiles on our DJs page in the next couple of days!
custom_1 2:10 AM - 21 August, 2005
As long as there hard at work making a quality product, it will sell itself, FS is making a stink cause there on there last leg. Anyone who has used SSL compared to FS/FS2 knows. The new page is nice, i like how each dj gives a comment on SSL, i feel it's changed my life.
DJ Juan G 12:04 PM - 24 September, 2005
Its a nice update. Maybe a direct link to new video demos on the front page of SSL will help along with the dj comments. I think people want to see it perform for itself before they are sold to this product.
