Req: Remap Previous Track

DJ.GAWK1 8:40 PM 4 June 2005
At the enormous risk of bringing attention to the obvious...

Would it be too much to ask for a new button, available in Abs, Rel, & Int. modes, that can remap the previously played track?

Although it doesn't happen offen there are those moments when the kush in the air is a bit more potent than usual and users accidentally map a track to the wrong side of life... OOOPS! (crowd goes "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh")

This predicament immedietely forces the DJ to:

A. Realize the track was just mapped to the wrong f'n side.
B. Determine how upset & unforgiving the crowd will become.
C. Wonder how long it will take and calculate the value a possible "Search & Reload."
D. Decide on what to do next... either make a run for the nearest exit or bite through a power cable hoping for a quick & easy death.

IMHO this is WAY too much intel for any brain to process in less than the allotted 1 sec. while this kind of tragedy takes place.

And, by the way, when you finally live through this experience, if you're still standing at the decks, your well developed "high" has left the room and it took your dignity and groupies along for the ride.

Can you say BUZZKILL?

Possible Implementation:
Click button and previously played track is remapped to correct point in time (i think)...?

ABS. MODE: click button and previously played track is remapped.

REL. MODE: maybe there's a 15 sec., or so, cache / buffer that can recall the point that the last track was at and calculate the further advancement since the replacement occured?

INT. MODE: similar to Relative mode however there are prolly many other values to be equated.

That's the basic idea... and yes I am fully aware that this topic may have been previously suggested however searching for it was a bitch...

What do you think?

CTRL+Z, will undo the last mapping. Obviously that will only work in absolute mode, not in relative mode.

Fine print... who reads it? thx.

Maybe apply for Rel. & Int. modes??? [ praying ]

It works in rel mode and int mode as well, but the old position is not tracked I think, which will make the track starting all over again, not sure, dont use rel+int mode often.

For future reference... nik39... I'll email you directly with any other "Idea's" before I offer the forum. Doh!

as nik said, use cntrl + z shorcut. you will undo your last action (your last mistake :P). the old position is tracked in relative and internal mode, and in absolute, if you are fast enough, the last position is almost tracked too.

yes cmd-z does track the last position in relative mode whether you have "play from start" checked or not. try it, you might like it. ;)
