Serato makes colored vinyl. When is a picture disc going to be made? So ill!!
Imagine the Scratch Live Logo on both turntables while you're djing. I can't think of better promotion for Serato. Now that everyone uses SSL (that I know, atleast!) Slip mats with graphics are kind of pointless. When we used to mix vinyl recordings, every time we changed records, it was a chance for someone to see our slipmats. Maybe we were promoting a record label, an artist, whatever. With relative mode in SSL, we never take our records off of the platter. With picture discs, we could use the record itself to do promottions.
That's my first idea. Secondly, SSL could print up picture discs for other companies. Imagine, 50 Cent wants to promote his new album. Interscope G-unit, contacts SSL, and gets picture discs made of 50 cent on the SSL control vinyl. Then Interscope gets them to all the DJs. It's great promotion for the artist (it could be anyone, not just 50, It doesn't even have to be music. It could be a clothing company, anything really)This would be an additional way for SSL to generate income. SSL would also be involved first hand with promoting various artists,
companys or products..
I can't think of a more original way to do promotions. It's taking something that can obviously be done (picture discs have been made for decades) and updating it for the new market. It would generate even more buzz for SSL, and for whatever company wanted to source out SSL to make their special promtional picture discs...
I've thought this through. There is no downside to this. It's only a matter of getting all of the various parties in touch with one another. (Picture disc manufacturer, SSL, Promoting artist, Label, ETC.) COME ON. LET"S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
