Fader knobs

Wildstylus 12:35 AM - 28 June, 2007
I got my 57 in January this year and my X-fader knob is starting to look severely worn. I keep my nails trimmed but they still bang against the fader and as a result two of the corners are almost worn through. This never happened on any other mixer I used so it's obvious that the 57's fader knobs are too soft (at least, for my style). Anybody else suffering from worn fader knobs? Are they covered under warranty so I can get a replacement?

you talking about a "x-fader knob" ? im going to just assume you are talking about knobs and not the crossfader. it would not be covered by the warranty but you should be able to order a new set. call in to support and talk to the friendly folks there.

Can't believe a little bit of plastic costs 6 bucks! what a rip off. (plus delivery to the UK would make that stupidly expensiv)

my 57 v2 has diff fader cap knobs than my buddy's 57 v1.

mine are totally plastic, not even a hint of that light rubberized texture.
the white line down the middle is much more pronounced, as if the fader cap is 3 sections, black/white/black, all equal parts.

so who knows which ones are the turntablelab.com ones.

i like the ones i mine the best though, they're fast, possibly a little bulkier but i dont know for sure.

All 57s are supposed to have the hard plastic knobs. I got mine right at the start and it has those knobs. The MP 4 has the rubber knobs.

Wildstylus, I would contact Senheisser and see if they can supply you with a few. It will probably take a while but I would imagine they are going to be less than $6 plus postage.

On such a quality mixer I'm shocked that the fader knobs wear out like this

I sent you a private message. Please read it.

I've never seen a fader knob physically wear out, I remember the color on the vestax knobs wearing out, but the actual knob, wow. You should give Rane a call I'm sure they would be willing to help you out.

You can contact the service department and they'll send you a replacement for free. There in Seattle. 425-355-6000. Same thing with other fader parts. That little piece of plastic that hols fader to mixer broke on mine. I called and they sent me 6 replacement pieces just in case in breaks again.

My boy scratches the same way. He likes the feel of his fingernails hitting fader as opposed to actual fingers hitting.

I need to get some replacements for my fader caps as well. Right out of the box, the white section on all 3 faders was protruding from the black parts. The edges are sharp as hell!
