A longer Wav display to see more of the track

That would be nice. Maybe it would mean moving the SSL logo to the side.
Sacrilegious? Maybe.
Good for looking ahead on the song?
Absolutely.

thanks for naming that, but its not what i mean in this case.
A larger, longer display.
the - key will only take you so far.
There is also an overall track view right next to the zoomable clips, but it is not large.
More viewable space for the audio may be more usable and more comfortable.
Right now, I feel the wav displays are little small.
Though they definately work well enough, I would love for them to become larger.

yes, i think many people thinks the same... we will have to wait until a new SSL version (SSL 2?) is released. implementing larger wav view is not possible without redesigning the current GUI, im i wrong?
anyways, i LOVE SSL :)

how bout a toggle between horizontal and vertical waveform display? There seems to be a lot of unused space (esp with larger monitors) where the song info is displayed.... It would be nice if the user could choose a horizontal display if that felt more comfortable, esp because that is how virtually all audio files are displayed across the board in audio editing applications.

I personally think that for beatmatchers its the opposite, verticals are better as they have been implemented in SSL. Look how horizontal views are handled in FS2, they are not good for beatmatchers, cause they are not alligned to each other.

I was converted to vertical a year ago... up until that point i was convinced horizontal was the only way.. now i would never want to go back to horizontol.. the advantages of vertical mixing are too good!

yes, i agree with nik and yuri. the only problem is current SSL overall waveform views are too much small. with some tracks, they are almost useless.
i would like to be able, for example, to identify the beguinning of the bassline just watching the overall view (this would be awesome when setting markers). with the current SSL version, i have to use the mouse to jump to a point and the watch the partial view to set markers with precision.

vertical waveforms definately. horizontal would be negative now.
of course before I ever used SSL, I thought horizontal was the thing, but now that I actually have experience with the thing in question, definately vertical.

I would also like to add that even though I prefer the vertical waveforms, I like the idea of a second view (selectable in the 'setup' screen) as an option.
