Then it should *not* add an additional CR/LF to the outer quoting. It should *not* touch/alter the inner quotings. Does that make sense?

As you can see from the new quoting behaviour, I've trimmed any excess space between the message and the quote, rather than stopping extra spaces being inserted. This just helps keep requoting from going insane again IMO.

If you look at it from the point of stopping nested quotes from making the forum look like an unreadable mess of whitespace, I think this implementation addresses that, which is what I'm most concerned about at this point. If it becomes a problem, we can look at it again.

My point is still that you should not alter the original message. This is how the quoting also worked previously before it got broken.

And after a quick tweak, is how it will actually behave. That makes more sense than my awful rationale.

I disagree, trimming the whitespace is the better solution, and a perfectly acceptable one.

Trimming whitespace is a weird functionality, esp at the beginning og the line. Formatting and ascii art is difficult when leading white space are killed ;)
