Can I Run 2xV7's through A&H Xone DX??

luckee_d 4:41 AM - 9 October, 2010
Can I use 2xV7's through the DX while using ITCH and have all the functionality of the V7's and the DX?

Anyone???

no you cannot itch will get confused with what controls what so touching a funtion on one controller will upset the other controllers functions

What is your reasoning for doing this? What are you trying to do?
luckee_d 2:40 AM - 11 October, 2010
Scratch Platter Versatility! Thats all. I think it would be nice to have two platforms to control ITCH all at once. I want to be able to scratch with the V7 while using the DX as the mixer and when doing House music just use the DX, when doing hip hop sets use the V7. It just makes sense that ITCH could recognize both systems... BUMMER :(

Try it, let us know.

Matt-C already verified through a PM that it was not going to work. Would be nice though if they could add the option of running more than one ITCH Controller/system at once. Maybe in the future???? Eh Serato?

I tried it when I reviewed the V7 and DX. ITCH gets its pant in a bunch and while offering some sort of functionality, it's a very long way from ideal and I would guess unhackable to make it work properly.

Of course it works. You guys lack imagination. You simply need two separate computers and a shared folder for sharing the music over a WIRED network connection.

It's like making 6 pieces of toast at once... you simply need another toaster.

I think Serato should make a patch or update that will eventually allow multiple ITCH controllers to run together in unison on one laptop. To me it just makes sense to have a unit like the V7 hooked up to a unit like the DX and to have it all work like a well oiled hot body... I meant a well oiled machine, but you get the point.

Of course the DX would be performing as the main hub/mixer so any other ITCH midi controller would be able to just plag into the DX and play flawlwessly...

Please Serato:) PLEASE!!!!

i am just not sure what i think of that idea/// with the v7's ( the only controllers that seem to benifit) can actually do better with a better mixer than the xone:dx

I apologize, can you clarify?
kraal 2:21 AM - 12 October, 2010
yes what is the point in running a v7 and a xonedx????

other than 4 decks there is a better mixer that you can use with the v7.... what benifits will you get from the xonedx as a mixer --- none
luckee_d 2:32 AM - 12 October, 2010
The amount of control with both and the flexibility to use motorized scratch platters. Plus I love my DX!!!

What mixer do you recommend Kraal?
kraal 2:51 AM - 12 October, 2010
djm 900

i just dont see what is gained by using 2 itch controllers to control itch

Well, you would be able to apply ITCH's effects on the main mix AND record within ITCH... but I agree with you, turning the Xone:DX into a simple mixer is the wrong direction to go for the ITCH platform (IMHO).

Now the X7, on the other hand, would be GREAT if you could use FOUR V7s - or both sets of decks with TWO V7s - and use the X7 as a "mixer controller" for ITCH.

I need to do research on the X5 to see if it already supports being a "mixer controller" for ITCH. If it does, then you'd be able to apply ITCH's effects on the main mix AND record within ITCH. BRB.

There's no USB on the X5, so there's no way of getting the crossfader position TO ITCH... so the X5 is out as a "mixer controller."

I think it would be nice if you could use the DX as just a mixer. If a computer is not plugged into it, it's just a 4-channel mixer and is automatically in thru mode.

This way you could play music through it while restarting your computer, or the OP could have his V7 setup for scratching without having to buy another mixer.

I was actually looking at the DJM-2000, I wonder if can function with ITCH?
MusicDan 1:46 AM - 14 October, 2010
Any mixer can function with Itch when using the V7s or the HC-5000.

Nice, Thanks for clarifying, I am still new to the digital age stuff. :)
