Right Click/ Horizontal Wave forms

Some of these may have been suggested before but w/e.

1. Horizontal wave forms displayed below instead of between much like tractor does displaying both the overview and current wave position.

2. Some right click functionality, i would like to be able to add, rename, delete crates with a simple right click.

3. Tool tips: many apps have small tool tips that pop up when you hover the cursor over buttons or radio buttons etc. They usually display a short description of the their function.

4 The GUI as whole in my opinion could us an overhaul it looks very plain and does not seem to be very intuitive to the novice user. I assume this is to help make SSL use less CPU time etc, but newer machines run this so well i don't think it could hurt to make it look a little sweeter.

Would really like to see the horizontal wave forms, and right click action. I think the tool tips would help with quickly learning to use the product. I am House dj i do more mixing than scratching and it would be nice as i am an X traktor and final scratch user.

1) There already is horizontal waveforms (see this... i48.photobucket.com)

2) Tags/crates can be renamed with a simple 2x left click, but some right click would be nice.

3) There's tool tips already also, click the "?" button at the top and mouse over anything in SSL's GUI or setup menu and it will tell you all sorts of valuable info.

4) You're contradicting yourself. Yes the SSL interface is somewhat plain, but that's the point, so you don't have to be a computer genius and spend weeks to months learning the GUI (like Ableton or other DAW).

So how do i implement the Horizontal wave forms? I must have over looked that shit. And yes Right click functionality would be really nice.

Click the Setup button at the top of the screen. One of the options is "Use Horizontal Waveforms" or something similar - click that and go back to the main screen. Presto!

I agree that the UI is "plain" but I find that to be a plus. Bevels and drop shadows really wouldn't do much for me. Or were you talking about something more substantial?

Thx i must have have looked that i am somewhat new to SSL.

I used traktor for a long time prior and it just more visually appealing i guess, its honestly not much of an issue to me just something i would like to see in the future i use SSL on a Dual core laptop and it runs so fucking well i figured it has some room to look better

Yes, I think the interface has to be connected to see the option, Plus you have to have version 1.5 or later

I completely disagree with the OP's points. Especially with regards to the interface looking plain. The software, I believe, has had a mass appeal because of it's inuitiveness and clean look. I dont need aqua buttons, transparency, beveks and alike. I need an unobtrusive interface which is quick and immediate and doesn;t look like I have got my head in a laptop checking my emails at a gig. With respect I suggest you understand the functionality of the soft and hard product before you make non considered judgements.
