Ive been trying to figure how to get sound when I broadcast live with ustream also when I record with ustream as well. My gear is RANE 57, VIDEO SL, Macbook pro. I bought this RCA to headphone adaptor www.radioshack.com. Plugged the rca part into AUX out from the mixer into the microphone jack of the macbook pro. Yet I still cant get any sound, Is there some kind of setting I need to put ustream on? I am using Ustream producer(free version). When I broadcast I use desktop presenter/screen cast function in the ustream producer program then I set the output window as VIDEOSL window.
Please help.
Please help.

Did you go into System Preferences on your MBP and change the sound input to line in? Make sure that is done, and then in Producer click on sound and choose Live Input Microphone. You can adjust the sound input volume through System Preferences and you can adjust the sound output through both SP and Producer.

do you have a mbp with 1 jack or 2 jacks? if you have 1 jack, you need to change the setting as carter said above. if you have 2 jacks you need to make sure you've plugged into the right one. the icon kinda looks like this: >*<
then in producer just choose system audio.
then in producer just choose system audio.

I find the level meters not accurate at all on ustream producer too.
You're right, for some reason If you crank the aux out of your mixer to max, the meter will stay in green.
What I do right now is try to settup by ear, even if that means being a little low in volume. Maybe PopRoxxx can chime in, he uses ustream a lot.
I Hope that a Ustream Producer update will solve this problem soon.

Here's a tip always keep the volume meter low or below red. When you save your set you can always increase audio/video volume in another program like imovie, idvd, or screenflow. cheers

right click on the speaker and go into recording and set the levels. but you have to set it low like 10 or less. anything high and it might be distorted

I suggest you get one of these.. i would have the same problem trying to get audio every time I stream. I have the 57 and this works flawlessly. or here's what maybe be your problem. when you have your screen shot you have to click on the little speaker to the right and select the built-in option and Boom!!!!!!!!

Problem: No audio recorded or heard thru headphones. Audio indicator in ustream producer acknowledges audio feed.
Specs used: Hp Pavilion 1000 Laptop, XP; video, jvc hdd everio camcorder w/usb converter; audio, UIC Series usb audio interface converter, UStream Producer (Free Version). I have looked for mute buttons everywhere. What am I missing?

I am not getting any audio when I stream the broadcast. I have audio on the computer. It just doesn't seem to be getting to the internet. Using basic producer(free version) I have checked the ear phone icon to the right of the video screen, and it is correct. I hear audio on my computer speakers, but not at the web site. Thoughts? Anybody?
