Key Lock

smoothe 10:19 PM - 14 March, 2007
Sense SSL is a vinyl immulation program (a really good one) I figure what the hell here's my idea.
So, we all started on vinyl including myself, and sense we all started on vinyl and SSL is a vinyl immulation program why keylock?
It's just not as real with keylock.
Your thaughts? I think SSL should not have it, but then again I came from vinyl myself so.......
Your thaughts?
nik39 10:30 PM - 14 March, 2007
My thaughts?

www.are-you-serious.com ??
smoothe 10:32 PM - 14 March, 2007
K, I guess that was out of line, sorry.
Konix 10:41 PM - 14 March, 2007
My "thoughts" are with nik. Get rid of key lock? Are you serious? After everyone has been bitching for 2.5 years to get keylock in SSL, you want to get rid of it? Yeah no. Use 1.6.3 or below if you don't want key lock "in" SSL.

eder 1:34 AM - 15 March, 2007
Well maybe if you said thank you to people who helped you out instead of being a pompous asshole about it, I might hold the fact that you spam this forum with so much unnecessary and useless shit is just from bad genetics. But since you survive off of not using the effing search button and not thanking the people who actually stop TO help you out, i will be an ass towards you.
smoothe 2:10 AM - 15 March, 2007
Edor, I do use the SEARCH function.
nik39 2:31 AM - 15 March, 2007

Oh smoothe.....I like your vigor, but you kill me sometimes.

And I still think you should have bought a speak n' spell. Do me a favor. Tomorrow, go up to your english teacher. Look him square in the eyes, kick him in the nuts, and scream "you've failed me!"

And again....

You must agree to:

1. Be nice to others

And don't think i need to post the complete rule set, cause you already understood 2 and 3.
Just be nice to others, it's not that hard.
nik39 2:05 AM - 26 March, 2007
But it seems like you didn't understand rule 3. Thats why I posted it again for you.
DJ Stuart (AR) 2:11 AM - 26 March, 2007
Nik,
Calm down!!! It's just a forum.
Be nice, we don't want to cause you any harm.
nik39 2:12 AM - 26 March, 2007
I am nice, I just reminded you of rule 3.

Funny how you suddenly switch to "it's just a forum".

Suddenly switch...?
I know the forum represents your entire life, but i'm not like you.
End of story.
nik39 2:29 AM - 26 March, 2007
Suddenly switch from "dont forget rule 1" to "it's just a forum [dont remind me of breaking rule 3]".

ANYWAYS, BACK TO THE TOPIC OF THIS DISCUSSION......

Keylock has been a requested feature of SSL for a long time. Although regular vinyl does not allow this, it is a very useful tool for all kinds of DJ's. I personally do a lot of tempo adjusting and beatmatching, and although I do not own SSL, I have used it and I have missed being able to keep the pitch the same like I can with my CD turntables.

I can understand how a DJ who is used to not having this feature may not want to use it, and maybe this should be considered. However, I can't think of a scenario where I would not want to have keylock. Maybe the solution is being able to adjust the tempo and the key (pitch) independently of each other.

If a DJ doesn't want to use it, they don't have to turn it on lol.
DJ Unique 5:35 AM - 27 March, 2007
I agree 100% with eder.
I love the fact that its available to use when needed.
