album covers and slipmats

how come when you put a half of an album cover under or on top of the slip mat it reduces friction when you scratch?

some things are better left unexplained . . .

Look up Bernoulli's principle, Smoothe. It's either that or the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle. One of those two.

. . . and if you can understand it, u shouldn't be a dj, u should be a rocket scientist

Ok, the guilt is killing me.

Neither one of those is the reason. Bernoulli's principle deals with behavior of fluids, most notably applied in aircraft wings.

The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is one of the bases of quantum physics. In a nutshell, it states that given a particle's position and momentum, as you make more and more accurate observations of one, your observation of the other becomes less and less accurate.

And neither of these relate to why a plastic sheet makes things more slippery.

For the answer to that, go here:

it makes it smoothe-er

sometimes, more friction helps you control the reccord movement better. makes you a better scratcher. that's why i recommend using sandpaper on top of the slipmat instead.

I use double-sided tape on the back of my CV.
