iTunes quality better than Amazon?

Seems to me iTunes quality is better than Amazon almost all the time. Now that they're all DRM free, you can edit them in Pro Tools and make edits, and 256 AAC is usually better than around 256VBR Mp3. They just sound better too. I guess I might actually start using iTunes over Amazon finally

That's pretty consistent with my experiences. I get the impression that iTunes/Apple are more careful about their encoding in general (besides the benefits of AAC over MP3 at similar bitrates).

I don't download from Amazon unless I have to. Inconsistent mp3 bitrates are part of the reason.
