am hoping to purchase a macbook very soon to run scratch live and produce music, using reason or logic.
just wondering as i have a choice between one at 2.16 ghz with one gig of memory and another at 2.33ghz with 2 gb memory. if i were to get the slower one, i would upgrade to 2 gb memory, (its about an extra 100 pounds,)can anyone can tell me if its really then worth the extra 250 pounds just for the increase in ghz?
it only seems to be a 7% increase and not worth the extra 200 pounds...has anyone tried both etc? im not likely to want to improve my model later, so i thought i ought to spend big and have less problems later, but if im only getting a 7% increase im not sure its worth it, as the memory probably does more for the speed. anyone know if theres much noticeable difference....?
i want to use scratchlive live, so speed would be nice!
thanks a lot for helping this newbie!!!

I would get the 2.33 with 1G of memory (if possible) especially if your going to be running several apps at a time.
DO NOT BUY RAM FROM APPLE, they charge too much.
Get RAM from:
otherworldcomputing.com
Good luck!

if your looking to save money, get the 2.16 and buy ram from what tonypsalms suggested, or even newegg.com
and get the 2.16 Ghz with 1 gig of ram, its the cheapest so that way when you buy the aftermarket ram you'll save. Trust me.
plus the 7% increase in processor speed isnt going to phase what you will be trying to do.
the 2.33 ghz to 2.16 ghz is just a Bragging rights feature.
lol, i have a Macbook 2.0 ghz, not the Pro which is what your looking into, and i Run Logic Express and Reason 3.0 together flawlessly, no problems.
Ram def helps!

I think the 2.33Ghz model comes with the 256Mb video card.. which will be useful if you plan on doing video mixing on the Macbook pro. --my choice
I think the 2.16Ghz model comes with 128Mb video card.
