If I forced re-analyzing my files in the early BETA versions of 1.7, should I force re-analyze with the final build 30 of 1.7? If I have manually created any beatgrids, will it stay intact or do I need to be prepared to manually review for tracks with incorrect BPMs?
Lastly, The autogain feature in setup, here is my assumption as to how it functions with the limiter: If autogain is matching the two channels, but their output is beyond the limiter range, the limiter will level it off based on how the limiter is set? Also, if the autogain can only work during build of the overview of the waveform and data already IN the analyzed files... does that mean I need to still force-reanalyze?
I know autogain was in since 1.5; however didnt know if the analyze file data predates the 1.7 enhancements or what. I love 1.7 and it was a pleasure beta testing for you! I learned alot as a new comer to ITCH, and hopefully contributed some to the cause. :)
All the best!

Hi DJChad72,
I would recommend re-analyzing for the final release version of ITCH 1.7 since there have been some minor changes in the way it works. Force re-analyzing will rebuild all overviews and will reset all beatgrids so you will have to go back through and edit these accordingly unfortunately.
Basically the limiter will limit the signal to prevent it clipping. If your individual channel signals are pushed too hard then they will push the output into the red and the limiter will be engaged. Auto-gain will just either gain a track or lower its level to make it constant across your music library as different tracks can have different output levels.

Excellent! Thank you. That is what I thought... but it takes about 3 or 4 days to analyze my library. :) So it is worth asking before I try it. LOL
WIth the autogain offset, why would I adjust the 92DB up or down? What impact is that going to have? I didnt really get anything from the updated manual or mouse over help. Also, since the release notes said that the autogain reads off the overview waveform to determine a match in volume between tracks. Is there a way to tell if a file does or does not have that indicator? It would help to know if I should be prepared to change a track more or less when I load and cue it up. :)
My only other question is I sent the manual to Kinko's to be printed and I noticed alot of new things missing in the Xone DX manual. Where should I report?
2 things that stood out as a for instance:
1) Record controls are no longer in the middle of the decks, it is above the FX2 section.
2) No mention of the Headphones Mix balance hardware controls, setup controls, or display of the %.

Ooops!!! One more question and I swear I will be done. I was recording the other night an 8 hour set. It was just really a prepare crate cranking out tracks to a deck on CONT. However it generated multiple 2 hour recoding files. I have seen this with other recording programs when recording to wav files and such. I didnt know if there were ways for ITCH to help export 1 file as TIF, WAV, or MP3?
I am not expecting it to, but thought I would ask. I can always use another program to piece everything together (ie ACID PRO or PRO TOOLS) and save as an MP3 or something.

Basically once you get to 2 Gig the recording will start a new file. This is jut how the recording process works for ITCH and Scratch Live.
As for adjusting the dB output up or down, this will basically set the level that your auto-gain will set all your tracks to.
