I have this comedy dvd that i want to use the vocal on their. are there any away that i can convert this to mp3 so i can used the vocal.

Just use your audio outs on your DVD player, and run them into your soundcard, and rip them on a program.

use a program like dvd decrypter to rip audio only. once you have the audio track on your hard drive, chop it up with audacity (also free) and then export to mp3 with audacity or use a standalone lame encoder to encode the audio file to mp3 format.
