Make sure protect library is unchecked, then highlight files/crate and hit control+delete.

Coo coo then why when I delete them from my ssl crates . The tracks I deleted come back when shut the comp off and get back on . Protect library is off too

ALT DEL - delete tracks
CTRL DEL - delete crate

press ctrl+r to reveal the file in finder/explorer. delete it there. come back to ssl and press ctrl+delete to delete it from you crate (the all crate). if it still shows up, rescan library, sort by this little status icon (the one that shows if a file is missing, corrupt, etc). you should see all the deleted songs in red. select them then delete them. you really shouldn't have to do most of this though.
