is it true i can record my serato mixes through the 57?
without the need of an imic, or any wiretap pro etc..?

yes.... on the record menu select 'MIX' and it will record to the laptop through the USB.

thats quality. where does it save the file, is it a wav, mp3? can you select formats and save locations?

its a aif file and its in the 'recorded' folder in the scratchlive directory (which is in My docs\my music on a windows machine)
the format & location are hard coded...
one other thing when you stop the recording you must type a name in the box to the left then hit the save button or the I think the file is discarded...

wait, if you have a regular serato box you can't just hit the record button in scratch live? I have a ttm57sl and record stuff all the time.

i couldnt find my file that i saved last night, when you say its hardcoded, what does that mean? i couldnt post it up on the net as a download ?

default save location on a mac is in your home directory (ie: you name)
yourname/music/scratch/recording/filename
yourname/music/scratch/recording/filename

Yeah like boabmatic said make sure to name your file and hit save, I think if you don't it ends up in your trash.
As far as uploading for the world to hear your wonderful talent; what I do is convert the aiff file in itunes to a mp3. The aiff file is huge if you don't .. You can do this Luke... the force is with you.
