So before the fanboys start coming out the woodwork, please re-read the title. =) I'm already expecting some jokers will reply and say someting like - such a thing doesn't exist or that's some sort of urban myth or oxymoron...but really not trying to make this a Mac vs. PC thing (which has been beaten to death here already).
I've been a Mac owner for years and bought my 1st PowerBook back in '04 to specifically run Serato when it first came out, so I know Macs work great w/ SL! No arguments here.
However, I'm just trying to do some research and see if there are any satisfied PC owners out there rockin Video-SL w/o any issues? (Specifically using a 57 mixer). If so, what kind of laptop & specs do you have?
I've tried searching through the forums here but the results for a dedicated PC Video-SL come back choppy at best. If anyone knows of an existing thread then please reply w/ that link. Mods/Serato Guys - If you know of any decent models then please get @ me!
-Thx in advance

i tried with a pc for about 9 months. horrible experience. i still use my pc for other tasks but when it comes to vsl or video mixing, the mac os/hardware integration beats out the pc everytime. i'm a hardcore pc user and i cannot recommend pc for vsl.

My PC laptop does check my specs.. Runs even better as a hackamac...It all has to do with the OS. My PC loads videos a little slower than my Mac that is a draw back for me When I say load slow I am talking about playin an insturmental and droping videos in by pressing the button on the 57 to load them fast no lag at all on Mac but PC like a half a second pause. I can do a gig and have done gigs that you would not know if I was using a mac or pc...But honetly like stated above I only use my mac and take my PC is back up.

Running flawlessly at best quality, 1080p videos on Win 7 64 desktop with discrete ATI 3870 card. Corei5 barely cracking 20% load as well! However I've had low FPS with a few high end laptops I've tried to use, even at normal settings. Even laptops with Nvidia 310M seems to try to use the integrated Intel of the core series chips, which doesn't work well. Make sure you download the codecs listed in the FAQ either way, not sure why they aren't included, or even a web link included in the installer.

My notebook runs VSL nicely and plays videos at +-60FPS. The only thing is that its an i7 Win 7 x64 and getting the dropout of death with my 57 when I have network & some devices enabled. There are some directshow settings which have to be configured first.
It's an ASUS G51Jx (i7 2.6, 4GB Ram, GTS 360M 1GB dedicated video card and 500GB drive).
Rather stick to a mbp...
I tried installing snow leopard on it just to check SSL's performance but couldn't get my trackpad to work. It was the only device left to get working (from what was needed) and I decided to install Win 7 on another partition, it screwed everything up... must have done something wrong to the partition table...
P.S> I did purchase a copy of snow leopard :)
Going to try again when I have time...
