Your supposed to ask the chick "Will You Marry Me?"
She says "Yes, of coarse I will, I love you so much, blah, blah blah".
Then she takes care of all the details.
All you should have to do is agree on a few small things like what alcoholic uncle not to invite, what kind of cake you want, and what type of meals (probably 2 kinds) you want to serve. Normally doesn't require much from the guy, but be sure to appear really interested in her opinion.
Make sure the Mormon Church protects it though.

Romanian community is very unique. My wife's last bf before me was half romanian half hungarian and her parents made her break up with him since he wasn't true blood. So when they found out she was dating someone who is dark skinned her whole community disowned her. Its like a culture shock for her to make american friends now.

Hey, this is a male dominated board, and we'll sometimes talk about confidential Man Laws, so you have to act like one of us, and not resport any of your findings to Womanhood...OK?

Oh, I get it.
Steadfast recently got married and meant more like "How do you deal with it?"
If the has time to text you a whole bunch of times during the day, does that mean she doesn't have a job?
If not, then definitely suggest she get a job. Perhaps at the mall? Or even the Verizon, ATT&T or T-Mobile store so she can talk to people about cell phones.
If she doesn't want to work than suggest culinary school. I find that women from other cultures still kind of think a bit of the old fashioned way and really try to please & support "their man". That is until they get a lot of American girlfriends. (Think of the old Eddie Murphy 'Goonie Goo Goo' bit)
I'm not familiar with Romanian dishes, but perhaps she'd like to learn more styles of cooking to make you happy? (or herself).
Don't get me wrong, I'm totally not at all chauvinistic. It's just been my experience with my Portuguese born wife, and a lot of other non-nationals I've met and worked with over the years. I prefer to come home and have something easy like a bowl of cereal, but she often times wants to make me some big meal.

Him going somewhere where he knows SHE wanted to go is NOT cheating...
That's just "ME" time...and sometimes, dudes just have to get that..

I think marriage is stupid, because 2 people can still have kids and live together very happy. I think once people get married it changes them, i mean look how many divorces are out there especially between religious people, atheists have more survived marriages than religious people. Just google and youll see. The only reason a guy asks to marry is cause thats what every girl dreams of. I think if 2 people decide to get married they should by law have to take a lie detector test and get prenups signed too.

Both wrong. Health Insurance.
My girlfriend wanted to get married, I did not. I wanted to be with her, but she wanted more of a commitment. After realizing it's not as "final" as it's made out to be, I asked her to marry me, and i actually get excited as it gets closer (no homo).
I'm also still looking for bachelor party suggestions. I guess we will be cheating on each other since we will not be involved with the others party.

A close mutual friend of my girl and I will be getting married in 2 weeks. She's been through a whole lot with previous relationships. Dudes acting straight up asshole type, she finally met a dude that was treating her right and the dude step up to the plate and asked her to marry him. Some people just have it in them (nm) to take that plunge and some people don't.
Here's the catch, they both have kids from previous relationships and it's constant baby momma/daddy drama for both of them. In the end I guess they both accepted the fact that they can't change the past and take shit as it comes.

what do you Nope, i wasnt asking your opinion on it. real talk, admitting your wasting your life on a marriage that he didnt want. thats real talk? whats real is not getting married since he really didnt want to until he found some reasoning in his head telling him its not forever and just do it, hell find a way out sometime later. prepping for divorce since she wanted it and he didnt.
He says "i guess well be cheating on each other".
Real talk...right. you and him should get together and engage in contracts you want nothing to do with and squeeze your way out later in time.

Wow, testy much guys?
The cheating on each other was due the fact of the bachelor/bachelorette parties. Someone had mentioned it did not matter what we did, we would be cheating, so I came back with, well I guess we are cheating on each other. I've been with this girl for the better (or worse) part of 6 years, and I have never engaged in any type of act with any other woman during that time, and I really don't have a desire to start now.
You should not have to feel sorry for me taking a bit of time to come to grips with the act of marriage. While in the beginning, I did not desire to have the label attached due to problems like the amount of divorces within the first year etc. I came to the conclusion, that it's not the worst thing in the world, and if I truly desired to spend my life with her (which I did/do, married or not) she deserves to have her special day that we both can enjoy, and look back on many years afterwards. If you read my comments, you would see that I stated I'm actually getting excited (less than 2 months away) I'm not prepping for divorce, I'm prepping for life. Too many people rush into marriage just for the fucking sake of saying you're married, where as I waited and made sure, and she is glad we built our relationship to where it is today. It may not be this way if I had jumped right in and got a ring when she thought she was ready, which she admits she wasn't.
She is not marrying me for health insurance, it is the other way around. Also, just a hint, I wouldn't marry someone just for health insurance, we all will have it one way or another soon enough. Why would I subject myself to girly movies and dinner with in-laws just for that?

Please tell me hes kidding and ill appologize, but it doesnt sound like a joke to me.
No, it's REAL TALK, because TIMES ARE HARD. Health insurance is HARD to come by. If either of them has a GOOD plan, or they see things in EACH OTHER'S PLAN that they can benefit from, (i.e eyecare, dental, co-insurances), that is SOMETIMES very inticing.
Hell, he MIGHT be kidding....but besta believe, I've said it before, most "Marriages" today are a "Contract", with something to gain for either party.

times are hard?? hahahahaha come on man, you make a living dj'ing. times arent that hard.
but bezzle said it right, we must have missed the ESP classes as we couldnt read his mind as he meant the exact opposite of what he wrote.
and i dont care if most marriages are contracts for something to gain, thats not how i roll and it shouldnt be how anyone does either.
ive never looked at someone or had a female friend say they were with someone for health reasons!! hahaha sounds so stupid.
Or move to a country where you have health insurance freedom (Canada, UK) and you can get on with your life instead of living a lie.

Marriage isn't what it used to be, roles have changed and I am amazed when I see 50-60-70 year anniversary announcements in the paper. I've often asked my grandparents how they lasted some 60 years and they said they had long ago accepted each other and knew they wouldn't be able to change each other.
Everyone is taught now to make themselves happy at all costs so partnerships and marriages are set to fail from the get go. I've just passed my 3rd year with my wife and while we fight occasionally, I love her dearly and am a stronger person with her, than without.

I feel you dude, really, but the truth of the matter is that Marriage = Benefits if you take one for the team.

You should be a STRONG person w/out the need of someone else. Maybe I'm taking it too literally, but LOTS of people NEED people to "COMPLETE" them.
A person should have their act together before linking up with someone else.

You act like INTERNET DATING SITES don't do cross references JUST like that...
And people go on them ALL the time.

The "General" meaning of someone having "Health Insurance" is a quick and dirty way to say, "Ok, this person has a job, WITH benefits"....
I'd bet if you signed up for an Internet Dating Site and had an option to put "Employed" or "Unemployed",. which one would get you more hits?

Job? - Check!
Decent Credit? - Check!
Big D*ck or can Eat P*ssy to make me forget about his short comings? - CHECK!
Yep, women run you through a LIST, and it's about time US MEN, held them to a higher standard too!
For example...
Can cook ? - Check!
Great Head? - Check!
Swallows? - Keeper!
You know, stuff that keeps us happy...

I mean, I can't get upset at you guys for jumping down my throat, because I put it out there for you to read and comment on, but I thought I pretty much 'splained myself in my post before the above.
From now on I'll stick to no humor or lightness in my posts, I'll just be serious all the time.

I know I said I would stop posting humor, but I can't resist with every fiber of my being.
NOTE: ATTEMPT AT HUMOR AFTER BEZZLE QUOTE, AGAIN THIS IS ONLY A JOKE!
I obviously have much less to lose than her. She is the one with the job, my sugar momma, hence why I am marrying HER for the health insurance.
