he's a songwriter, producer & singer. He co-produced every track on his album. He's not some puppet listening to the labels and just creating a hit. I think his lack of singing should make up for his skill as an artists. There aren't many artists that I can say song write, produce and sing. As just a DJ i respect that. That just means he's passionate about his music.
