T Mobile's Project Emerald: The EVO Killer?

DJ Josh V 10:16 AM 12 August 2010
Maybe I should invest in google. There gonna have everyone going nuts fighting each other with all these phones coming out and laughing all the way to the bank.

I heard about this on ustream and they were saying something about being 3 times faster than the EVO refering to this "Emerald Project"
Anyone hear of this?

Is this the one thats supposed to hit the market as early as november?? i hope its the same one i heard about because its supposed to be a BEAST and TMobile has awsome plans, im paying 40 a month for 1500 minutes free nights and weekends starting at 7 no roaming and unlimited mms txt and internet

I got on an Unlimited Loyalty customer plan on T-Mobile which is $49.99... unlimited minutes, anytime to anyone. AT&T can't touch that. I wanted the iPhone something fierce but AT&T's outlandish rate$ kept me from jumping ship.

I'm really interested in that new Blackberry with the touch screen and sliding keyboard but of course, AT&T is the only carrier so far that'll have it. It seems as if they charge their customers a premium to license the hottest phones.

+1

I think you CAN get the updates but I don't want a hack phone. With my job, I'm on call nearly 24/7 and can't run the risk of not receiving phone alerts because a some hack software.

Well the unlocking isnt really a hack, in some countrys the iphone OFFICIALLY runs on tmobile as a phone you can purchase from the store, the unlock just opens that up its the jailbrakeing you have to worry about

i would've stayed with tmo but they still don't have 3g in my area. edge sux.

No front facing camera =(
RnBDJkb 6:45 PM 27 August 2010
What does this mean?
•8-megapixel camera with face detection support"
skinnyguy 9:20 PM 27 August 2010
the camera is an 8 megapixel camera and if the camera software has face detection capabilities, then it can auto-focus on faces (or what it thinks is a face).

You ain't going to want the BB slider. It uses dated hardware (same processor in the bold 9700 @ 624mhz around) and the OS is just nice glitter over the OS 5.0 and even 4.5.

RIM is falling behind and making silly decisions on what model(s) to make, what hardware to use, and making only half baked OS upgrades.

This is coming from a BB fanboy btw
