What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Implemented Webcast Funktion

Hi Folks. Traktor has it's own Streaming Function...serato should have it too.
Make it possible to connect to an Icecast/Shoutcast Stream Server directly from Serato.
No more extra software needed. Nicecast does the job, but some important things are missing.
Would be very usefull for DJs on webradio

thx

good idea, however for most dj's 'in the mix' they would have to use the audio from the mixer..

as SSL has no crossfade ability, it could be messy

yeah ok. but it could stream the audio signal that arrives "line-in" from the notebooks audio device. TTM57 SL won't need that right?

the idea is just something like winamps oddcast plugin or the standalone version. enter server data and choose audio device. you also can edit some stream infos so listernes see the current playing track as f.e. "Mr. Flex - Live on the Wheelz"

i'd love to see that in future releases really.
I used to stream my live radio shows from a seperate PC.
Now i sold it for other reasons and i wanna keep on doin my radio job with only one Mac. that should be possible but as i said...nicecast can do the job without sending a trackname..only description of the stream. thats not enough :)

ok i found a solution. nicecast is totally enough for the job. also custom track titles can be send to the server. now i don't need the internal webcast funkction no more :)

for those who wanna know: here is it

Manual Track Titles

Nicecast automatically reads track information from iTunes, Audion, MacAmp Lite X, MegaSeg, and Ask The DJ. Nicecast can also optionally read track titles manually from a file. This file should be located in your Home folder (~), in /Library/Application Support/Nicecast/NowPlaying.txt and follow this format:

Title: Last Battle
Artist: Satou Naoki
Album: X TV OST 1
Time: 04:59

Note that if this file exists, Nicecast will read from it, overriding any other titles. If you wish to pull titles directly from your source application, be sure to remove the NowPlaying.txt file.

All fields are optional, or 'N/A' if not available, and the refresh rate for this file is 15 seconds.
