What a coincidence cuz i was thinking this last night cuz ive noticed that it seems like my usb slot in the back is getting loose. Well rane has a 2 yr warranty anyway plus 1 more yr if u register it so it should be covered. serato moderators........any input?
DLake 12:32 AM - 22 February, 2007
WOAH! there's a warranty? man.. i wish i could get a backup serato box just for gigs incase my box gets broken or something on the trip there... then im screwed for a gig.

I have a backup laptop, backup cables, backup records, cd's, needles, headphones, power supplies, mixers... no backup seratao box.

Corex 11:20 PM - 22 February, 2007
automatic 2 years for states and 3 years is only able to get with states
canada is a bitch and a half to live in, atleast for serato. i've been trying to get this shit registered for a longer than a year warranty for the past 5 months, and i get open ended answers. kinda blows =\
Rob - Low 2:29 AM - 23 February, 2007

questinpa 10:53 PM - 23 February, 2007

I keep my serato box encased in the mixer case with the USB cable always plugged in. everything is secured so theres no movement. I did that originally because I knew I'd beat the shit out of it if i keep plug and unpluging the cables and USB cords...
joerockets 7:14 AM - 26 February, 2007
would couplers on all the connectors (usb, rca, even power?!?) help that out? I'm assuming you're afraid of connections getting loose from constantly plugging and unplugging the unit which might be the case for a lot of people.

www.revealcable.co.uk

www.shop.com

probably not the best in terms of minimizing signal loss
DJ A-NAK 3:07 PM - 26 February, 2007
yea basicall from putting the usb in and out like 4 times a week or more it becomes a little sketchy to me that the serato box may become worn down?? i mean i always have usb back ups because they cheap as hell but a serato box is some extra change that i just wonder if it's worth it?
DJ Stuart (AR) 3:10 PM - 26 February, 2007

^^ Ill let my LA homies know. Last time they came up, Southwest Airlines broke their box, during handling of luggage. I told em the SSL is mandatory Carry-On.
DJ d.range 12:54 AM - 27 February, 2007
i also noticed my usb being a lil loose, i thought it was me being wreckless again
joerockets 3:26 AM - 27 February, 2007
i would seriously consider coupling that bad boy that way you you'll only have to replace the coupler and the entire unit.
Dj ChuckFader 10:20 AM - 27 February, 2007
I guess my topic would relate to this. I went to Radioshack for last min and asked for the power plug thats required to power the box. They told me "no we dont have this plug" with a I dont know what your talking about look, so I went to a different location and showed them my box. She gave me the right power plug, but a different plug that connects to the box. I noticed this when I was setting up for a gig after I bought it. I didnt want to take the risk of damaging my box and missing my gig, so switching laptops with another dj was a no no for that night.

I was never a big fan of buying ish from radioshack, the only time I bought something there was an rca plug. they always think they know everything.......
alright now thats off my chest!!!

when i bought my power adapter, i 1st went to radio shack without the box, the kid told me to bring in the box, so i went back with the box & he gave me the power cord/box/plug, but, he had to see which connection fit into the ssl box, he pulled out a keyring with like 50 connectors and determined which one i needed--i've never had a problem
Dj Ryme 12:45 AM - 28 February, 2007
same here, all you need to do is take your box match which plug fits it (mine is green I think) then make sure you buy the plug with the right wattage and your set, the radio shack I went to even knew what the serato box was I guess they have been selling them to serato users for a while at that store.
Pete Moss 12:47 AM - 28 February, 2007
Mine was replaced under warranty last year.
