Yeah, I've been looking for some of his stuff. He's top notch with the blends and mix creativity. Dope. I would prefer to hear the songs a lil faster but nobody's perfect...
I'm gonna track this mix up and ride to it...Thanx!

I think the mix was made in 2000, pre-serato guys. Jrocc is one of the better club dj's I've ever heard. The dope stuff is when I saw AM quick mix live before serato.

Pretty sure this is done with regular vinyl. Not so easy to quickmix unless you're like Z-Trip and all your records are marked to max (which usually means the sets are all very similar). Don't get me wrong, I think Z-Trip is dope as hell, but he tends to do a lot of the same sets over and over.
As far as this J-Rocc mix, it was about 20 minutes into it before I started thinking to myself,.. this shit is dope. Maybe it was the spread love.

ALLLLLLL DAAAAAYYYYYY!
There is a reson why J is called "The Funky President". He has soul, a knowledge of a wide range of music, and it is hard to touch him when it comes to rockin a party.

It didn't take me that long... To do it live and sound better than most DJ's pre-edited stuff is amazing.

I've only seen J-Rocc once in my life live. A few of you from the forum were there. It was at that Guitar Center thing in Hollywood. This cat was STRAIGHT UP ILL, live in person. Regular vinyl. Maybe the softest hands, I've ever seen work a mixer and decks. He wasn't doing any Q-Bert or A-Trak type stuff but his cuts were so damn precise. If I'd heard it on tape, I'd probably say it was edited. When he was extending breaks by looping records, you could honestly not tell where he would cutover. Those needle dropping tricks he was doing at the end were pretty incredible too. I'd never seen that in all my years of DJing, not sure that I ever will either.
Oh yeah, and he just dropped some breakestra in this mix! Dope.

J-rocc was at Truly Odds house all the time back when I was in the heavyweights record pool. Dude used to school me all the time on old break records, hes a living music library. Anyway, I had live at the sex machine back when it was put out in 2000 I think, I still play that mix all the time.

This was one of the best mix CDs I've bought to date. The official CD gets you a track listing from CDDB, so I know it's out there somewhere for those of you needing a track listing.
