So I'm doing a couple of shows in England and Holland...
So I need to know if I can use my SSL box there with an adaptor I buy when I get there. I'll be setting it up before the show as I want to make sure it all works properly well before I hit the decks so I need the adaptor plugged in while other djs are playing vinyl.
Basically can I just buy something there?

Should be no problem if you buy a regular 220v to 12v(i think?)
adapter. If your adaptor supports 220v you only need a plug adaptor. I'm only speaking for the Netherland though.
Where are you playing and what kind of show?
Oh yeah, expect the other djs to use vinyl or cds..

as DJPremium said, check your current power pack to see if it supports 220v,if it does you can pick up a US to UK/EU plug adapter at the airport.
if it doesn't you'll be able to pick up a power pack from maplins for around £10 ($20) which will work in the UK (and Holland once you buy a UK to EU plug adapter)
www.maplin.co.uk
check the store locator
www.maplin.co.uk
It would be alot easier if every country just used the same voltage & plug socket... :(

Not easily Pepi ...
Ok boabmatic, that's helpful! I'm going to check my adaptor when i get home but I doubt that it'll work as its the cheapy radio shack one that is suggested in the SSL manual.
yeah it would be easier if everyone just used the same plugs, but really how could you get them to change that? It would be like asking British people to drive on the "right" side of the road :P
Interesting enough I believe that US and Japan use the same plugs ... now that's weird.

OK cool, so it looks like the adapter for my powerbook works for 100-240v, I just need to get a uk tip for it. And yeah any adaptor that fits the specs for the serato box will work as long as its capable of 220v.
hey sweetL, do you have an adapter for your serato box? which one do you have?

Pepi, I live in London... It is hard to get gigs here... Everyone and their mom is a dj...
Get a few plug adaptors and a 220v power supply and you're all set...
Have a good trip!

pepi, my friend, based on your profile it seems that you don't have serato and you're playing with cd decks... that might be a first place to start... Besides practicing and playing out as much as possible, build yourself a website... and may the force be with you...
