Instant Start/Hot start

I bought serato several weeks ago and have been playing with it at home, but I have not brought it on a gig yet becuuase I cannot mix with it!!!

I am currently using a Denon 2600F with Serato which is loaded on a laptop that exceeds all the requirements.

Over the years I have develped a style of mixing that relies heavily on the hot start feature of CD players. I have found that using serato, the hot starts and play is not truly instantaneous in ABS mode.

In REL mode, the start may be instant, however, if you miss the beat and press CUE on the CD controller, SERATO just treats the CUE as a stop in the current location instead of taking you back to the CUE point! I am kind of dissapointed cuz I just dropped over 2 Gs on Serato/Laptop/500 gig hard drive. Could it be my choice of player? (2600F, Denon) any suggeestions for me?

yes.. it is your player.. the Denons use an audio curve when you hit play (or hot start) that cause this to happen with SSL.... the DN-S3500 has an update our for it to fix this issue.

The Audio curve feature is good for when playing normal audio cd b/c it a very quick fade into the audio wen you play a song (so fast you can hear it but ssl can tell.
