SSL starting to blow up in Canada

Hey Y'all,

Been a while since I posted- that's a good thing, means I'm not really having any problems. Altough I did have a unexpected quit on my Mac this past weekend at a gig in FLA. Don't know what happened, but I just opened up the software again, and it worked, albeit I had a 2 min pause in music! But it was the 2nd last song of the night, so I was lucky.

Seems as though SSL is gaining crazy momentum up North. Almost all the big name DJ's are jumping on- most laughed at me when I told them about it when I picked it up 6 months ago (I'm a bit of an elder statesman- so they assumed it was because my back couldn't take lifitng crates..well that is tru also). Anyway, kudos to SSL- I have a feeling we are looking at industry standard a la 1200's and CDJ's very shortly.

Funny thing is...It happened to me... I got this joint back in April. Dj's were like what if this, and what if that, and you should keep it real(mind you they were using cdj's). Now all the radio jocks got it. They don't know that they bought it indirectly because of me,the people they are influenced by, are influenced by me. I love it, I'm glad I got to get my collection and organization together over the past 9 months.

Haha, LK, youre killing me :)) I thought they bought it b/c of me, cause I posted SSL on the internet, damned I can see my shares going down ;-)

Down here ATL .. the hype is not that much .. don't know why ?

We do need someone like Lord Kaseem ... most of the folks down here are either straight 1200s or CDJs. I have a very hard time explaining what SSL is .. I just gave up.

RANE/Serato how about some more promotion ? even the small mom and pop equipment stores have a demo of FS2.

yep it is blowin up. i live toronto canada. Alot of peps r getting ssl here. dj's i know that have fs1 or 2 are getting ssl. i had mine since dec/2004 and i am very happy. Never had a problem with it stright out the box.

hmmm, so I got Jitz on to it and he got some TO djs onto it... the domino effect keeps on going and my plan of every dj having it so I dont have to get to the club early to connect the wiring is working... muahahahah muhahahahaha

yeah i've wondered that myself. i'm in ATL and all i seem to talk about is getting SSL. there are a few other people i know of that know of it and a couple that are looking into getting also but most arent really checking for it yet. once i get mine they will all be followers i'm sure :)

I love my SSL dude. You will not regret it.... just do it !!

if a cdj or any other cd deck/dual deck dj told me to "keep it real", i'd slap that person...

and yes, i use denon s5k's, but i don't go around telling other dj's, "keep it real"....and i came from a vinyl background too.
