What serato COULD do for me...

sweetL 10:11 AM - 17 January, 2007
I dont know if it can already do it.

I have a pretty large system in my car. I have inputs spare on my system.

I have a power converter, and i have a car laptop charger.

I go to car shows semi-regularly... and id love to be able to mix from serato, ideally, to not to have to take decks, would be great... is there a usb-powered mixer, and / or usb-powered controller i could use to scratch / mix / fade serato with?

It would potentially be an awesome thing...

First off - have you replaced your alternator to supply the extra juice to power your system and all the extra you've added? And I fried a laptop power supply by using the car adapter. I wouldn't do it again.

if you talk to him, say that theres a guy from edition 38 in the uk on your scratchlive forum, and see if he has any clue what you're on about!
puertorok 6:20 PM - 17 January, 2007
haha, that is crazy...small world.

Next time I talk to him I'll ask. Here is my car that same day...I'm about to get rid of it though. I see a B6 Audi avant in my near future...

Aha... had a flick thru my pics, afraid i didnt get a shot of yours.

Were you hanging around on the sunday, when a bunch of english guys gave a trophy out of our own? That was us... the h20 guys were really accomodating to us! at one point went for a razz in the brick, and almost fell out of it powersliding on grass... nice.

our show... www.edition38.com (possibly best show in the uk, if you want my opinion, and pvw magazines opinion!)

im going this year again, would be good to meet up if you head down.

anyway... back to the matter in hand.. is there a way i can make, for example a behringer thing work with serato?
DJ_Mike_Coquilla 4:41 AM - 18 January, 2007

drove it from northampton (where i live) to a show at alexandra palace in north london.. taking bites out of everything on the motorway, even a supra that slowed up to have a look.. he changed down and floored it, i just planted my foot in fifth at 70, and got tyre squeal as i pulled away from him... bonkers stuff. love it.

got a mk2 2.9 vr myself

So you are overseas where they got all the good shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn you!!!!!!just kidding, I ordered some euro bumpers for my roc and euro lights from Germany a few years back, shit is hard to get over here in the U.S. I love the style over there with the shaved engine bays, the rolled arches and what not. You guys definatley got the hot shit over there! I really envy you! How is the scence with other vehicles over your way? Ford, Chevy, Honda, Toyota, as far as mods go?........
sweetL 10:31 AM - 18 January, 2007
Ford scene is crazy, those guys take 'concours' to the extreme. Honda and jap scene is also strong.. and the american car scene, altho small, has a dedicated following.

There is a strong hot rod scene which runs quite closely to the aircooled vw scene at times, and interestingly, the watercooled vw scene is the first other scene to be invited to hotrod shows apart from the aircoolers...

My bro has a shaved bay 20v mk2 > check the thread :) (hes a bit mad, my brother)

welllll long story... he initially had the car from a friend, when it was a 16v big bumper. he then painted it - did some body work (circa 99 / 2000), then did some more body bits, wheels changed, interior came in 2002 (without dash) and 2003 he took it off the road until 04 when it came back with the bay, the facelift the dash leathered, and more bits... since then its had chroming bits done, wider bbs' fit, more arch flaring..

im going much the same way, but not quite got the cash atm to do the interior, so im fitting mk4 gti recaro, doing the bay and bits, i have all the stuff i need, then ill look at turbo'ing or doing the interior for next year.
sweetL 2:33 PM - 18 January, 2007
