Best option for HD use between PC and MAC? (read/write)

I did do some searching and came across a couple things, but im wondering what everyone is using currently to read/write between mac and pc

so what are the best routes to use a drive for both mac and pc?

i currently have my drive formatted in NFTS, which is fine as it reads on the mac and i can play out on it. The only problems is-is that i cant add cue points or loops without them being lost because of the "read only" with NFTS on a Mac.

I came across Macfuse, but this is a 3rd party app and assumingly could cause problems?

The other option is to use Macdrive for windows and format the drive with Mac Journaled?

oh btw: my drive is a 1TB WD MY Book Elite

I kind of like the 2nd option because its formatted in mac, so i wont have any problems with lost/errors/ect.., and since my Mac is my gig laptop, this would probably be a safer bet. But i also dont want to have a problem backing up the drive on my PC, which is where i do most of my mp3 shopping and crate organizing

Format te drive as FAT32 ten bot OS's will be able to read and write

yea i don't want to do that because of the 4gb limitation on file size and the slower speed

and last time i did do it, the drive wouldn't recognize on my friends MBP

well ive ended up settling on the MacFuse and NTFS-3G. NTFS-3G is actually supported by apple and can be downloaded in the apple store, however you need the open source MacFUSE for it to work correctly, which can be had via Google

so far its great - i tested on a usb flash first transfering and editing and everything is good. now im playin around on serato with my external and everything seems good
