Denon DN-S5000's and Denon DN-S3500's. Pioneer DVJ's and CDJ-800's.

This is possibly the best thread to ask if SSL works ok with the DVJ X1 pioneer players, i have an upcoming gig where they have them installed and i wasnt sure if there would be an issue with them being DVD focused players.

My friend has used the DVJ's with SSL but he said they do not hold pitch well in general.

I disagree. I use the DVJ X1 all the time and it works AWESOME! The DVJ X1 is just like a CDJ1000 except with Video capabilities. You hook up SSL the same way you would hook it up to the CDJs.

Cheers clore/woody, jacking the thread a little but those players are AMAZING fun. They were actually the DVJ 1000 newer players (no idea on the difference).
I went to the club last night (a reconverted church with the DJ booth in the pulpit - how ace!) to check it all out and it's got the best kit i've ever laid hands on.
The manager however told me that i have to play from his DVD collection as he wants his nice players used properly, so SSL is out the window. It's no too bad as he had alot of the latest promos, but i discovered that being DVDs, the tunes are shorter than radio edits! about 2 mins a song and it's back to looking through lists of songs manually (ughh). Also, the players take about 6 - 8 seconds to load the tune/vid up, so last minute rushing isn't fun.
The best bit was scratching the new vid of mason - princess exceeder which has the HOTTEST women grinding on gym balls, back and forth back and forth, mmmmmm! Thoughts of mashing pornos in time to hot tunes came straight to mind haha!
Such a great piece of kit had to tell you all, SSL bring on the video!! it's undoubtedly the way forward (in my humble opinion).
