Is there any advantages in purchasing a Midi controller such as an Akai Pro LPD8 if I already have a 57SL?

midi controller is the best purchase I ever made... i have had trouble switching the buttons fast enough on the 57 to do what I wanted and I have a difficult time seeing the buttons in a dark environment (although glow in the dark nail polish on all by buttons and knobs solved that one), so a midi controller solved those problems perfectly.
I like the trigger finger, but it recently got discontinued. It fits perfectly above the 57 between the turntables. I like the fact I can control volume levels with the knobs. I bought about 5 or 6 controllers before settling for the trigger finger. It is totally programmable and has banks for even more versatility. Takes a while to set up so it is comfortable, but it has been great.
Another dj friend and I have the same problem with controllers dropping out during a show where you have to unplug them and plug them back in, still trying to figure that out.
