its a midi controller "so yes" but you will manually have to midi map it..
if you dont aready own it..i would save up and get a vci-100

ive been checking out the 100 on techtools and the one with the arcade buttons kicks ass... how would u set that up with a ssl1 box?

Does anyone know if the typhoon controller work with the itch software. If it is just plug and play, then that is great. However, If I have to map it, how do I do it?

The Vestax Typhoon won't work with ITCH, but will work with the new Serato DJ Intro. You can get this here > serato.com (click link).

@Michael R: typhoon is listed as supported device, but Intro does not recognise it on Mac OS. Maybe update will take care of it, but vestax site does not mention anything about serato support.

It should work, so can I get you to try the following:

1) Ensure Serato DJ Intro is closed and connect your Vestax Typhoon.
2) Open Finder and go to the Applications > Utilities folder and run the Audio MIDI Setup application.
3) Click on the Window option in the toolbar and select "Show MIDI Window".
4) Scroll along and look for the Typhoon in the connected devices, it should show as "TYPHOON DJ-Controller". If it is connected, but shows as something other than this (e.g. "USB MIDI Device") then try the following:
5) Disconnect the Vestax Typhoon.
6) Whatever device name it was showing as, click to select this in the MIDI window.
7) Click the Remove Device button.
8) Reconnect the Vestax Typhoon, it should now correctly display as the "TYPHOON DJ-Controller".

Please let me know if this helps or not.

Do you mean the Cup button on the Typhoon? This button has no functionality in Serato DJ Intro, so it shouldn't light up.

That's kinda the thing about serato intro. Hell they for some reason are shipping the 2channel cappable software with the vci400. Can you say "why not itch??"

Hey guys, serato intro is not recognizing my typhoon? It shows up in the midi setup as Michael R has mentioned. Also the controller has problems freezing and timing out and being unresponsive while using other programs such as virtual dj. Im running on an i5 mac book pro using Lion osx. I had to do this to my first unit, which I exchanged for this one. Any suggestions why I am having such horrible luck with these units?
