Install drivers manually, go to windows 7 search bar and type in device manager, open that, then from there look for any yellow exclamation marks that says serato blah blah, if that's the case then everything from there is pretty much easy.

Oh actually I misread the what you wrote since someone told you to run it in xp compat mode, that's not the case if it CAN'T read the mixer, I'm guessing it's the mixer if it CANT read it. Does it show any hardware detection when you plug in the mixer?

-Ive uninstalled and manually reinstalled the drivers
-Updated my Dell Bios to the most current version
-Set the compatibility mode to XP service pack 2
-Rebooted a million times.
and nothing seems to work for me. I stll have an exclamation mark in device manager and when i run SSL it says device not connected. Some good karma for some good advice? Anyone wanna trade?

I just bought the 57 this arvo.
I was fully expecting problems getting Serato up and running on my laptop which has Win7 and is AMD Athlon dual core, bad combo by the sounds of it :/
Firstly I installed the software and then connected the mixer with no luck and the exclamation mark in control panel. So I uninstalled Serato, then connected the mixer and reinstalled Serato while the mixer was connected. Worked first go and ran like a dream for the few hours I played tonight.
This is the sequence that it actually states in the manual insert.... I should have read that first.
So, if you guys haven't tried uninstalling then reinstalling while the mixer is connected, give it a try.

Microsoft needs a new CEO. I was reading an article about it, but since Gates left the company is getting worse and worse (and that's if you believe they ever cared about their operating system).
I'm not an apple fanboi, just very unhappy with windows. Using it right now, but use a macbook pro to DJ for reliability.

If you guys have a exclamation mark in your device manager you have to install it MANUALLY, when you download the program you have a drivers folder. Extract that anywhere you can remember where you put it, find the exclamation mark, and update drivers MANUALLY, then locate that folder with the serato drivers, find the drivers you are using (sl1, sl3, ttm57, etc.) then install it, I use to have windows but since my friend gave me a mac book pro I kind of have trouble explaining this, but am here to try to help windows users.

My windows 7 laptop does not pickup the TTM57 (same problem as you) when I have my wireless mouse (receiver) plugged in. If I remove it then plug in the 57 - it's fine.
Try unplugging all devices u can, there could be compatibility issues.

With Pc computer you have to unstall the serato driver and
re-download it. Then plug in the ttm57 mixer USB into the computer than run the driver to install serato & it will work. DON'T RUN THE DRIVER UNSTIL YOU PLUG IN THE MIXER OTHERWISE IT WON' T WORK. Its only that on PC computer for some reason.

so what becomes of my crates that I created. Are you saying that I should uninstall the serato software and then re-install it with the ttm 57sl plugged in before my windows 7 laptop will recognize it? I plan on getting the serato mixer but if I have to uninstall the software and then loose my crates....I will not purchase the mixer.

I just took my 57 out of the box literally an hour ago and no problems. Serato tells you you need to connect the device on install so this shouldn't be a surprise to those paying attention.
Dj new, your crates won't disappear that info is stored in your ScratchLive folder, even your settings (Play from first cue, autogain etc) should stay the same (mine did)

You will have to install the drivers the old fashion way. That means:
- Attach your mixer
- Open devicemanager (rightclick My Computer > manage)
- Rightclick your inproper installed device TTM57, install manualy
- Browse to your Serato program Files folder. There is a driver folder in there. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Serato\Drivers\Windows 7\57SL). Install your TTM57SL
- Your set!
This is NOT a Microsoft bug but a lack of proper install in the Serato Setup.

Why can't I use my wireless mouse with the TTM57? When I unplug my mouse it immidiately recognizes my mixer.

ok same problem as everyone but with a twist. I ran an sl3 box with Serato and Denon 3700's w/ Hybrid Midi no prob. I upgraded to a TTM 57sl (I sold my SL3 box) and when I unplug my wireless mouse it works except for the Hybrid Midi. So I've come to the conclusion that the only thing I can have plugged in via USB is my TTM 57. Is this correct? Is there a way to run Hybrid Midi w/ the TTM 57?

ohh man.. idk if I should be glad i stumbled here.. tax return $$$ is on the way and have plans on buying da 57 @ GC. Please, someone help me convince myself that this is still the right move.. the right investment. I am not as big money grip as most plus I have mouths to feed.. but the platers are the way for me to put food on da table, I just need some kind of assurance.. some peace of mind... I mean, $1500 is FIFTEEN DAMN HUNDRED DOLLARS.

I have been using mixvibes dvs for about 4 years ...on a asus p4 with one gig off ram
so I'm good at setting up P.c for audio
at the start off the year I upgraded my laptop to a hp DV6 i5 with 4 gig off ram
mixvibes ran like shit with both my edirol fa66 firewire sound card & my esi u 46dj usb sound card
as I'm a x-pat kiwi living in OZ....all my dj friend in NZ & OZ are using serato....& are always up me for not using it...thay call me unpatriotic for using mixvibes
over a New Zealand software
3 weeks ago took the jump to serato with a new rane ttm57 sl that I picked up in L.A
why I was on holiday....I was very scared about getting the rane ttm 57 sl after reading all the posts about the problems with i5 & the sl1 /ttm 57 sl
when I got home to OZ from the US ...loaded serato 2.2 onto my i5 laptop pluged in the ttm 57 sl opened serato and there you go.....everthing work good straight out off the box
on the weekend I did a real test to see if I could get any audio drop-outs....
so I started mixing at 10.00 am..by 12.00 the temperature out side was 40 ( f##k it was hot )...by the end off the test I had been mixing for 6 to 7 hours & had not one audio drop out
this works so good ...now I feel like a dumbass for not moving to serato 4 years ago
