I just got off the phone with a very friendly employee of PSSL who recommended Scratch Live as the end-all best digital DJing software out there. I asked him this question many times: If I buy Scratch Live and only Scratch Live (I have no vinyl, no mixers, no DJ equipment whatsoever), will it be all I need? I never really got a straight answer. I do think that Scratch Live is the best software available to me, but what about an MIDI controller? What about a soundcard (he called the soundcard a scratch amp)?
Up until today, I was set on buying Traktor 3.2, an Echo Indigo soundcard, and a Feena FMDJ9303 controller to go along with it, until I heard that the Feena controller was discontinued. Does Scratch Live require an external controller?
I'm just way too confused to go out and buy something now, and I really REALLY would like to have the set up in my possession by next Sunday. I would love to buy Scratch Live, I do have the money. Just need to know what else, if anything, I will need.

You might find buying the TTM57SL package to be worthwhile...it would certainly be a better investment than the bundle of stuff you mentioned (supported by two reputable companies that appear to be in it for the long haul). That's in stark contrast to the *terrible* support that Native Instruments provides for Traktor (except for when they're trying to get you to spend money on "upgrades").
To directly answer your questions: if you buy the basic Scratch Live package, you need a mixer. If you buy the TTM57SL package, a very nice mixer is part of that.
You can definitely run Scratch Live in "internal mode", with your choice of controller. If you get the TTM57SL package, you could use the controls on the mixer for internal-mode (I have the mixer, though I haven't used it that way).

If you have no intention of picking up cd players or turntables then SSL is probably not your best choice. You'd likely be better off with something like PCDJ, MP3 Tunes or something similar.
If you're wanting midi control, a 'basic' all in one package, and have some serious computing power to run it I'd recommend Torq.
You can mix internally using an X-Session Pro to control the internal mixer and add a trigger finger if you want to add on some control for the sampler. You'd be able to plug from the Connectiv (the soundcard part of the Torq package) into an amp. But I need to warn you, you need some serious computing horsepower and memory to run Torq effectively. You'll also want a back up CD player just in case you have problems (Torq is new and can be finicky if you're not REAL careful).
But since you now have a CD player you might want to learn to use it... and SSL is more stable...
