When I first started using serato, I had my music in a folder on my drive. Now, i use itunes and inside serato(after I've imported) I have 3-4-5 copies of one track(the same track). I do know that I changed the mp3's from 192 to 256 which put doubles of every track I had into both programs. My question is how can I fix this? Or what sytem do YOU use to get tracks to itunes and into serato. My problem is that when I import my playlist from time to time all those tracks (that I erased) have somehow reimported their way back into these programs.

Did you just re-encode your files from 192 to 256? If so, get rid of the 256 ones and keep the 192´s!
Then use the "show doubles"-tool in iTunes and delete those tracks you don't want anymore. Close iTunes and start Scratch Live, go to setup and choose "read iTunes library". No need for importing tracks in Scratch Live when you use iTunes to organize your files.

Nah, I prefer 256K. I don't want doubles, Yeah, I did reencode them but itunes and SSL kept my 192k files and that created this huge cluster f-bomb. Anyway to show the 256k files in i tunes? I'm trying to find the easiest way to erase my 192 files so when I import my newer files into SSL thru i tunes. I don't get multiple copies (upto 5 copies) of one track. Thanks bud...

Well, your 256's isnt really that if you just re-encoded them. You have to use the original source (CD's, wav-files or whatever you have) and do it all from scatch again. What you just did was to make your files larger and sounding worse.
To show bitrates of your files just right click on the bar on top of the songs (where it says: Artist, Album, Genre, Year...) and select bitrate there.

okay.. okay.. point taken. Is re-encoding tem the same as converting them? Now if I've downloaded a song that would be the org source, right? Now as for the bitrates etc. I knew that but going thru 3000 songs is killing me... When it asks me to keep the files or to send them to the recycle bin, what should I do?

If you download a song, keep it like it is. You can't get higher quality than what it already is.
I guess you really have to go through all songs, unless you know that all 256's should go. Then you can just sort by bitrate and delete those tracks.
Keeping files Vs recycle bin, if you choose to keep files they'll still be on your computer but not in your iTunes library. If you're sure you won't ever be needing them again then go ahead and send them to the recycle bin.

When I say doubles, I mean there are 2 files that are the same song one at 192 and the other at 256k. It happened when I converted all my songs to 256k.
