All my guys are booked already, just got a call for another gig in Culver City, California. If anyone is interested, the contact's name is Rosie, her Phone Number is 310)945-6966.
She asked about what I charge, and I said I wasn't sure who was available yet, but Nobody was working on New Years for any less than $500 bucks for a couple hours. She wants Spanish music and Club Music. If anyone wants it, feel free to call her. When I said $500 bucks as a minimum for just a couple hours, she didn't seem to flinch...so if it's a longer gig, you might be able to get paid nice.
Give Her a call.

Cool...at least if a number of people call her with prices we should be charging, she'll know she ain't gonna find a DJ last minute for new years for pennies.

Not sure...I just know it's a latino crowd...Don't even know if it's a club...you might have to bring gear...if you end up doing it and need speakers or something, lemme know, I might have some stuff available.

500 is way to cheap especially for new years eve. 5 hours playing plus travel, set up break down and loading and unloading = at least 7 or 8 hours all together and for new years ever that just wouldnt cut it bnut im sure some bedroom dj will do if for 200.00 haha

Yea, I agree...I told her $500 for "A COUPLE HOURS" was minimum for new years...I didn't know she wanted 5 hours...either way...there are bedroom DJs in this forum, and they now have a shot at a gig.
There are definately price teirs for quality of DJ, and if this lady can only afford to pay $xxx she should get a DJ that warrants that amount of money. If it's less than $500, she should maybe call up DJ Praise. Hahaha. Sorry, had to do it.

well i used to dj @ a bar...now i got shit since the place is moving to another location. So now im back in my bedroom practicing. I got my own equipment and tons of music and i know how to play for latin crowds real well. I'm sure i could rock this party easily but 500 is kinda low since i just put like 5 grand down on my whole system...idunno maybe ill try to hagle her for 600 bux

Thats nothing, thats like some of these dj's that have to bring a crowd in order to spin at a place, you might as well be paying the promoter because your doing his job.

Hmmm......iPod DJ's.......I don't think so. But that's for another thread. I remember the days when I would take gigs for nothing and these people would want the world for it. I don't miss it at all. I'm booked for a New Year's Eve party for 5 hours @ $3k and these people appreciate what you do ;o) This is my 2nd year in a row with these peeps and I'm charging them an extra $1k too and they said "coo! thanks for the hook ups!" Unreal!!
