Hey, im getting this for xmas (hope i chose the right one) anyway, i thought id download it in advance to sort my music out etc, but i can play the tracks in the Scrathc live software, is this cos i dont have the hardware yet ? because i did the same with the competitors software last night and it still lets you play with the mp3's even though there isnt hardware conected ?

Yes you need the interface connected to actually play tracks.

Well, it would kind of render the interface pointless if you could play tracks without it for free.
