no.. dont go with dells.... we have a dell at one club (strip club) i work at that crashes every other day... i did some reserch on the web and found out alot of audio pros have had issues out of dell computers.... i say go with the Mac.. but if you want to go with PC.. stay away from dell

Anyone got any suggestions for a good laptop dedicated for serato for like $500-$800 bux? Right now im using a desktop but I just need something portable that will run serato and not crash on me. I'm getting a seperate hard drive to hold the music.

I'm personally gonna be selling my computer pretty soon and moving up to a DV9000t.

For about 1300 bucks, it's got a 2.0ghz dual core pentium processor, 2gb of ram, and I already ordered 2 200gb hard drives for it (you can set up 2 hard drives in a RAID on this computer,) so for 1700 bucks (still cheaper than the macbook pro) I have Double the RAM, double the hard drive space, and the same processor.

I've always been a PC guy...to each his own...when people ask me why I use PCs instead of macs, I tell them straight out...I can build a PC from scratch in my sleep, I can fix most issues on a PC without problems, but I barely know my way around a mac. For me, macs are no good.

For someone who always uses a mac, I don't suggest getting a PC for serato just to save money...Go with what you know, especially if this is your main source of income.

I currently have a ZV6000, which is the same laptop, but like 2 models ago...lesser processor, less memory, smaller hard drive...and it's been flawless. That computer'll run like a dream.

That depends on what you're used to and what you do with it. If you make your living DJing, you're going to not want to use your DJ Laptop like a computer. No AOL, no limewire, no porn sites, no email, only very controlled internet. If you're careful, you'll be fine with either a PC or a Mac. If not, you'll have problems down the road. People tend to think PCs are more vulnerable than macs, but that's not really true...the two just have very different problems. When I get home, I'll post a link to a really funny video about the various problems you run into with macs.
